Lily watched him sleep, his chest rising up and down. James's breathing was even and his lips were slightly parted. She had never seen him more at peace than now. Even so she wished James could sleep with his eyes open. Oh, how Lily longed to look at her favorite chocolate colored orbs.
She knew that she didn't deserve him in the least. After all the years of verbal, emotional, and even physical abuse she had sent his way in their school days Lily knew she simply didn't deserve her husband.
What tore her apart was that she knew he'd disagree in a heartbeat. James would talk about what a great person she was; how beautiful, smart, confident, and just perfect she was. Oh how wrong he was…
Lily was so far from perfect! She was somewhat pessimistic, too stubborn, her face was too long, and she often jumped to conclusions too quickly, and was just as imperfect as possible.
However Lily would never speak her thoughts to him. She knew exactly what he'd do.
James would pull her close to him and rest her head against his chest (she was a good head shorter than him). Then he would tuck her hair behind her ears and rub her back and head soothingly.
"Lily Potter, you're none of that. In fact it doesn't matter what you think, or even anyone else. You're my wife and you're perfect for me. Even though you are a bit nagging at times it just makes me love you all the more," James would whisper reassuringly into her ear.
Even though he'd done that for over two years it still sent shivers down her spine. Lily would follow her usual pattern.
It would soon be late quickly after and James would fall asleep. While he slept Lily would watch him.
She would simply think of how much she didn't deserve him and how much he would disagree.
I have major writer's block. I should be updating Because of Me but I just can't get into it. I have loads of Twilight and LilyJames drabbles but I don't feel that I should upload anymore until I finish the new BoM chapter.
However I'll most likely break my own rules so here's the first exception!
