Back In The Fuedal Ages Part Two
Flashback
The rain was coming down hard. The sound of raindrops hitting the trees and ground was all you could hear. Kagome stood close to InuYasha, trying to keep him dry with her umbrella. "What did you bring me out here for, InuYasha?" Kagome asked. InuYasha remained silent as he had most of the night. He stared out into the trees, watching the rain. He looked deep in thought. "There's something I wanted to tell you for a while now, Kagome," InuYasha said quietly. "What?" Kagome curiously asked. He stood silent for a moment. Suddenly, the trees to the left of them parted. A monsterous ogre demon came out at them, swinging a large club that looked as if it were made out of a tree. InuYasha burst into action, quickly wielding the Tetsusaiga. "Wind Scar!" He yelled as he brought the great sword down. The earth in front of the sword erupted and jets of gold light dug their way to the demon, destroying it when it made its way there. After the dust cleared, Inuyasha stood in the clearing, ready for another attack. He waited a while, finally put the Tetsusaiga back into its sheath and began making his way to the hut where Miroku and Sango sat waiting for Kagome and him to arrive. He went inside and shortly after Kagome came in.Soaked from the rain, she decided to ask InuYasha about what he wanted to tell her tommorow and went into the other room to change into some dry clothes. She never got to ask.
The Question
Kagome had wondered what would have happened between her and InuYasha if he had said what he wanted to so many years ago. She reasoned that they would probably have stayed together and she wouldn't have ever left. Quickly dismissing these thoughts of the past, Kagome brought her attention back to InuYasha. "InuYasha," She started, "What was it you wanted to tell me all those years ago?" He looked her in the eyes. "I wanted to tell you that I wanted you to stay and be with me after we got all the jewel shards," He paused. "But then we got in that big fight and it didn't seem like that would ever happen." Kagome remembered the fight well. InuYasha had injured himself in a battle with Seshomaru a few days after and wouldn't let Kagome treat his wounds. She had gotten angry with him for being so stubborn and left. That was one of the first things that made her leave. The other fights were a blur because they weren't very big, but there was many of them. Suddenly she was filled with understanding. How horrible could InuYasha have felt for the last ten years? Her eyes filled with tears. "Oh, InuYasha," She said as she threw herself onto him. "I'm so sorry." He hesitated a moment and finally decided to return the embrace. "It's okay, Kagome," InuYasha said. "You're here now."
