It all started with a single note left under Smokey's fireplace (pretty ironic eh eh EH a bear with a fireplace in his cabin EH EH kinda a FIRE HAZARD), a note written in invisible ink. The old ranger smiled, "Just the feller's style." He handled the letter with as much care as a bear who had just gone through a whole jar of honey could, and pointed it towards the light.

As the invisible ink dried, a message started to appear:

"Meet me at the Haunted Oak."

A sensual rendevous? Smokey sighed, for he knew that was only wishful thinking. Doopliss had no idea of his true feelings. Thanks to his manly ranger facade, he was not ready to break down his image to admit his love. But perhaps tonight was different.

Smokey made his way with a secretive haste, the sort of haste that you hide from everyone else. This is supposed to be symbolic of his insecurity with his love for Doopliss. Anyways, as he crossed the river and trudged up Haunted Hill, he finally saw the Haunted Oak. There sat Doopliss, fiddling with the decoration on the top of his party hat.

Speaking in a gruff tone, he hid his real feelings with the words "Whaddya want?" Doopliss nervously looked up, gazed into the big bear's brown eyes which had seen many forest blazes, and his breath was completely taken away. Doopliss knew what he wanted from the bear, but he could only make small chit-chat, "Have you seen any action lately?"

The bear took this as a hint, and seductively inquired, "what kind of action?"

"You know...forest fires..."

This was the stick that provoked the metaphorical beehive that provided Smokey's sexual honey. As it flowed through his veins, he could only utter, "only YOU can put out MY forest fire."

Doopliss was confused, but relieved at the same time. Finally the lovers had come together as one. Doopliss initiated the night's passion with a single utterance and a smile.

"Oh Smokey!"

And they've never been happier since.
