Blood covered me from head to foot and yet I still ran. Pain erupted through my body with each step I took as I ran in super speed. My vampire sense of super hearing told me my pursuer was hot on my trail. He was always close but this time I was a little bit faster and I would continue to run for as long as I had the advantage. Blood dripped into my eye turning my vision red. I panted despite the fact I didn't need to breathe. I felt it rather than heard it when my pursuer, James, caught up with me. He slammed against me sending me flying into a nearby tree, breaking it in half in the process. I grunted as I hit the ground but didn't have enough time to get up because next I felt the steal tip of James's boot slamming into my side successfully breaking two ribs as I spun and broke through two trees before the third one stopped me and I fell once again to the ground. This was the endless torture I suffered since the day I was turned into a monster. I fought James day after day in what he referred to as his hunting game. I was designed to make him a better tracker but it was also designed such that the prey would die once it was caught but I was strong I refused to die. I was also fast because I was a new born. He had explained to me several things when he first found me. One was that I was new born vampire and he had never chased a new born and second was that he hadn't turned me so he nicely told me should I survive I may be lucky enough to find out who or what I really was but that was 20 years ago. I grunted as he kicked me in my other side causing me to spit up blood. I looked at him through bleary eyes. He had that horrible smile still on his face as he laughed at me, "twenty years my little vampire, twenty years you lasted but it seems you haven't fed in a while because your eyes are still black. That explains why I was able to catch up to you so easily this time. Guess I have to kill you now my little………"

He stopped mid sentence and looked away from me just as the smell hit me. There was a human nearby, my only chance of survival was to get to that human and feed. Without a second thought I jumped up and ran like I had never ran before. the world around me blurred as I tackled the human to the ground and sank my teeth into its warm neck while I held my hand over its mouth and I drank. I drank until I heard James fast approach. I stood and caught his hand in mid strike. Power coursed through my veins as I fought James, his eyes still black while mine were now a crimson red. I landed a kick to his gut and an upper cut to his chin and he was down for the count.

" You lucky bitch, don't worry this isn't over yet. " He mumbled before he disappeared for good. A laugh ripped through my mouth and I danced with joy as I felt the familiar burn that was my body healing. Another day, I survived another day.

" What have you done ?" I turned around and red met gold eyes.
