"Stay back, I'm warnin' you!"

"Or you'll do what? Throw that book at me? Please."

"Really now, just, just, leave me alone!"

A thudding noise was heard as a book bounced off of the mugger's head.

"Oh… you're gonna get it now."

WHOOOOSH. WHOOOOSH. WHOOOOSH.

"What the bloody-"

A man ran into the alleyway, sporting a fancy haircut, a suit, and a trench coat.

"Wot's goin on here? Are you muggin' this nice lady?"

"Uh….." The mugger turned to face the strange man, pointing his knife at him. "You better stay back, or I'll gut both of you!"

"Right, like you can do that with a rubber switchblade. Come on! If you're gonna try and rob someone, at least do it well! Not saying you should be mugging anyone, that's generally not very good. I'm getting of topic… where was I? Oh! Right! You! Don't mug people!" The man reached into his trench coat and drew a revolver. "Now, I haven't got a phone." He said, waving the gun around as casually as could be. "There's no way for me to call the police, except for the one, best way. And what's that you ask? I'll tell you. Gunshots." He fired the revolver, and robber and victim alike ducked for cover. The bullets, however, harmlessly smashed into a wall, bursting into pieces. Within seconds, sirens began to sound.

"Well, that was fast. I'm really sorry about any inconvenience. Really I am." And with that, he threw the gun to the ground, and ran off.

The next day, a girl went for a walk.

She saw the blue box.

She saw the same man.

"Oh 'ello! I remember you!"

"I never really thanked you for yesterday, did I?" She asked.

"Nah, that's alright. It's what I do."

"What's your name?"

"Well, I'm the Doctor. What's yours?"

"My name's Robin."

"Well, Robin, how'd you like to come travelling with me? See the sights?"

"In what? You got a plane or something?"

"Ooh, I've got something even better. Next stop: Everywhere. How 'bout it?"

"I 'dunno. My mum taught me not to go with strangers. Why would I trust you?"

"Well, that's the thing. I'm not really a stranger, am I? You're Robin, and I'm the Doctor. We're basically best friends already, 'eh? How about this. I take you on one trip, and then you can come back if you want. Deal?"

"Well, I suppose I don't REALLY have anything else to do… it's a deal. I just have one question."

"Yeah?"

"Your name's the Doctor, right?"

"The one and only!"

"Doctor Who?"
