A Pat On The Head

As I watched Simon talk animatedly about his most recent victory, I smiled happily and congratulated him. I suddenly reached out my hand and put it on top of his head. I smiled brightly and said, "Good job, Simon!" my hand patting his dark hair.

I noticed for the first time that I was looking down slightly while patting his head.

I chuckled as I said, "Simon, you are shorter than me." He fumed.

After I saw Rossiu disappear out of view, I cocked my head innocently to the side, confused. After a moment, I remembered the lunch box in my hand and gasped.

"Oh, Simon, this is for you!" I said happily as I placed the pink bento box in his hands, he nodded and motioned for me to sit in his chair. I obliged as he leaned again the chair and ate, I waited silently for him to finish.

I saw him take a bite and couldn't help but ask, "Is it good?"

Simon, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, gulped and nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah, it's as good as always, Nia!" he took another bit of rice and put in his mouth.

As he finished, I got up from his chair and walked to the beautiful view of Kamina city. I gazed down and felt very tall. Suddenly, I remembered something from long ago(about 7 years now?), and walked up to Simon, who was busy debating silently to himself about something.

As I faced him, he noticed me stretch my arm and put my left hand on his head, he looked at my curiously, as I patted his hair.

"Simon, you are taller than me." I stated, looking up at his blank face.

He stared at me with a confused look.

As we returned to Kamina City, Simon and I just stood there, enjoying the presence of each other.

Simon, now the hero of the Universe, just held me close to him as he looked off into the sunrise.

"Just like good times, huh?" he asked, more to himself than me, I nodded slightly anyway.

As I stared up at the hero, I remembered something that I did, before all this chaos began with the Anti-Spirals and me becoming their Messenger. I gripped the long jacket he gave me (when we reunited) with my right hand, and slowly reached up to the top of his unruly dark-haired head with my left.

I let my pale hand rest there.

A little pat on the head, only once this time.

"You're still tall."

Simon looked down at me, and this time, instead of confusion on his face, he only smirked and nodded, his arms around my waist bringing me closer to him slightly.

"Yep."

A/N: well, that's done, I was inspired to write that by some pics I found on the internet for Simon and Nia. I haven't seen the last episodes yet(waiting for the part 3 special edition to come out). So I hope I got that last scene ok.
