I wanted to write a short one-shot for no reason. So, here it is:
They were different, you could say.
Everyone said that they were exact opposites, but honestly, they weren't.
The most important difference was their religion. For most people, that could mean some controversy, but they were so in love that they didn't care.
They dressed differently, and listened to different music, but that was pretty much it.
They both liked writing. And reading. They liked the same authors. They were both kind, and caring, and loyal to their friends.
They had the same ideas on what was right and wrong.
So, they weren't polar opposites, as most people said.
Look at them. Don't listen to what they say or do, just look at them. They look like exact opposites, right?
That's why you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover. Because they weren't complete opposites.
Now, you might say, "Well, if they weren't opposites, then how do they attract?"
That's where you're wrong. I didn't say that they were exactly alike. I admitted that they are somewhat different.
1. Their style of clothing.
2. Their preferences in music.
3. Their religion.
4. Their outward personalities.
Eli was always smug and smirking, while Clare was shy and blushing.
If two people are exactly alike, they would not be good for each other.
But if they were complete opposites, then they wouldn't be good for each other, either.
You see, Clare and Eli were the perfect combination of different and alike. They were different in the sense that it wasn't a problem, and they were alike in the sense that they felt closer to each other.
Polar Opposites? No.
Perfect for each other? Yes.
Sorry if you disagree, it just bugs me when people say that Eli and Clare are Polar Opposites.
I know it was bad, I'm bored and I'm procastinating with re reaading Harry Potter.
Review Please! Even if it was bad!
