Ron's reward
"Are you alright?" I heard as I smelt salty air on the solid earth we had just landed on. I saw Harry fall to his knees, and let go of the hand of Dobby, our very brave house elf. He then attempted to lower Griphook gently to the ground.
I admired Harry for his actions. I personally wasn't sure about Griphook. He seemed a bit sneaky and sly, but all the same, I was proud of Harry asking him if he was alright, and then proceeding to ask Dobby if we had reached Shell Cottage, home of my brother Bill and his wife Fleur. I was surprised when Dobby didn't answer Harry. Then I noticed it.
A sharp silver knife (which I believed to have been thrown by that horrible ghastly female Bellatrix Lestrange was protruding from poor Dobby's heaving chest. Harry then shouted for us to help, which I was pretty desperate to do myself. But Dobby then said "Harry...Potter" and then became completely still.
I felt awful. It was horrible to see that the brave house elf, who had done so much for us, had been killed. I then realised Bill, Fleur, Dean and Luna had approached us. I then brought Hermione inside.
I couldn't help resenting Harry for Hermione's state. After all, if he hadn't shouted You Know Who's name, we wouldn't have been caught by the Death Eaters, and Hermione wouldn't have then be tortured. But it was no use thinking like that now. All I wanted was for her to recover. I gently put her in bed, rubbing her shoulders for a few minutes, and then went back to Dobby's body, where I found that Harry had manually made a grave with no magic. I realised why he had done it, and carried on helping him.
Once the grave was ready, Harry took his jacket off, and put it on Dobby. I thought to myself about how much Dobby loved socks. He was fairly like me in that respect. I felt he was more deserving at that moment than I was, so I sat on the edge of the grave, and pulled my shoes and socks off, and then put them on his feet. Fortunately, this wasn't too hard on my own feet as we were on the sand.
As has been said, we all (after Dean had given Dobby his scarf) said some words of thanks to Dobby, especially Luna, and then walked back. I decided to spend the rest of the time by Hermione.
This all happened 9 months ago, but I was told by my darling Hermione that I had a special treat coming for me. When it came to the time, I asked her what that was. "I remember how after Dobby's death, you brought me to a bed..." she smiled. "Oh, come on, I love you, I wasn't going to let you get more hurt." "Yeah, and you also gave your shoes and socks to Dobby, causing yourself some pain..." "Not really, we were on a sandy beach. People often have bare feet on the beach, Hermione," I said, smiling. "And you also wanted to make sure the elves were safe in the battle at Hogwarts."
"Well, now's time for your reward. If you wouldn't mind taking your shoes and socks off again, so I could give you a foot massage?" "Oh, Hermione, really?" I asked her, delightedly. I willingly did so, because I knew that other than going to bed, or doing it for someone who deserved it, having a foot massage from the girl you love, would be the best possible reason to take your shoes and socks off. So I had a nice foot massage.
"Thanks Hermione," I said afterwards, "I love you so much." "I love you too, Ronald," she replied.
The End.
