Hello! It's has been a long time since I've written a piece for Merlin. However, I've been taking a Creative Writing class this semester and have been really working on my poetry. I only hope this honors the Legend of Arthur and Merlin well.
To Avalon
Mare of shadow and stallion of blood
surge across a field of fallen.
The scent of fear none but them can sense
swirls about the air, the glen.
. . .
Two armies lay both in ruin,
with splintered spears and broken lines, scattered.
Banners, both of scarlet and of night, torn asunder,
and a crown once whole, now lies shattered.
. . .
Dragon once Penned yet but now free
and Immortal One, staff in hand, kneels aside and grieves.
For Destiny had clashed against Fate,
two sisters ever entwined in sorrow and in hate.
. . .
Armor alike reflects the blazing sun,
though shadows upon heavy hearts lingers still.
For but one side of the coin returned,
the other now rests, his time done.
. . .
Weep not for fallen king
for he but will return.
Albion shall have need of him
though we know not when next we meet.
