Your regret is all that's left. The words rang heavily in his ears. Walking to the front door Mello closed his eyes, breathing in, for the last time, the familiar scent of cigarette smoke mixed with chocolate.

He walked out of the front door, and never looked back. He couldn't risk looking there once more; there was nothing left for them anyways. Matt had had it with his lusty lifestyles. Too many nights Mello had come home with the scent of another man's cologne lingering on him. And too many times, Matt had smiled at the blond, forgiven him and pretended that he didn't care.

But it soon became too much for Matt, and he finally gave Mello the choice of picking him or his lifestyle. Without a second thought, Mello put what little belongings he had in a duffle bag, and turned to walk away. Matt's heart broke in two at the expressionless face that Mello had worn the whole time. There was not an ounce of guilt to be seen, no regret etched into that beautiful face of his.

Mello slammed the door shut and walked away, hot tears building in his eyes.

He regretted what he did, deeply, but his pride kept him from expressing his true emotions, and he left his life with Matt behind.
