A True Gryffindor

Colin Creevy had always wanted to be as heroic and courageous as Harry Potter, the Hero he had looked up to since he had first been told the tale of the boy with the lightening shaped scar.

He always admired the upperclassman, showering him with praise and worshipping the ground he walked on.

Harry Potter was a Gryffindor in the truest sense of the word.

Colin aspired to be half the Gryffindor that Harry was.

Every year, Colin would see his hero survive the darkest situations and bring to them a special light.

Every year, Colin would watch as the legend of Harry Potter grew, for better or worse.

Every year, a part of Collin wished that he could help the Boy-Who-Lived and do his part to vanquish the darkness that He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was bringing upon the Wizarding World.

But a nagging voice in Colin's head always told him that he was not needed. He would just hold his Hero back.

The world had quickly become increasingly dark and Colin watched as family members were ripped away; as friends disappeared, never to be seen again.

He watched as his fellow classmates, his fellow comrades in Dumbledore's Army, were mercilessly tortured.

He watched as the muggleborn students like himself were rounded up akin to cattle, unable to belong to neither the Wizarding World nor the Muggle World.

He watched in horror as the world he knew was set on flames.

When He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named attacked the castle, Collin knew what he had to do.

He would fight.

He would become what he had always desired himself to be.

He would unflinchingly take a step towards probable death simply because it was the right thing to do.

He would fight for the present world entrenched in darkness to be able to step into the light again.

His name was Colin Creevy.

He would discover what it meant to be a true Gryffindor.

And he would never look back.

A/N: Wow, I haven't written a fan fic for years. I kind of fell out of the HP fandom for a while but after reading the last book, I had to write something. I'm still not sure whether I loved the book or not… I thought Colin's death was very tragic, considering being underage; he shouldn't have even been there. So this is dedicated to Colin Creevy. I hope you like it. Tell me what you think!
