She always had such a pretty face...
All he could recall was that. Had he already forgotten about her figure proportioned by the gods, or her luscious hair that matched perfectly with her serious eyes?
The girl was a thing of beauty, born to be a star. He knew that, yet he still held on to the memories.
His scruffy exterior could never compare to her diamond encrusted one. He was never really hers, it broke his heart.
"The day I die, will be the day you leave my life."
Did promises mean nothing to him anymore? Was he a man of no morals?
"I have no regrets, being with you, Meiko." He had said, "You are the best thing that ever happened to me."
She never smiled, she never did anything - the look in her eyes was unbearable.
He was new to the boarding school, but a girl of the same age as himself had caught his eye within seconds. Her curvy figure and masterfully chiseled features were only a few of her perfections. Any man could be captivated by her beauty, but none would ever be allowed to see it to the full extent.
Her name was Meiko, she was a woman of little words, a lurking sort of character. Anyone that had tried to approach her was immediately taken aback by her lack of...anything. She had no worth, no purpose, yet Kaito Shion saw past that.
He was her first friend, a bubbly ice-cream lover. The way he first approached her was an unusual introduction.
"Hello!" He had said, waving at her. His lip curved up into a smile when he saw her head turn. "Would you like some ice-cream?"
She shook her head, slightly disturbed by the cold dessert in his hand. It was trickling down his arm already. That was the first she spoke.
"No, I don't like ice-cream."
The pair became the best of friends, but still Meiko would never fully open up to Kaito. It saddened him.
"Mei-chan," He said, holding her hand. "Will you go out with me?"
"Yes."
That was the first time Meiko had ever kissed a boy and although she didn't want to admit it, it felt great.
"Kai-kun," Meiko muttered, her hands stuffed into her pockets. "I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" Kaito had asked, tugging his girlfriend around the mall. He stopped in front of a store. "I'll buy you something from here after you tell me!"
"I-" Meiko suddenly glanced at the store - it was a doll store - and felt uneasy. She shook her head. "It doesn't matter, Kai-kun, lets go and buy some food."
One day, when Kaito was studying, Meiko visited the mall alone. She visited a place that scared her - that doll store. The faces of the China dolls stared up at her, scaring her. She wanted to run, but something held her rooted to the spot.
"I..." She had muttered, gazing at the shop keeper. "You..."
Kaito had been planning for weeks, that day. He was going to propose to his love - Meiko. He drove to the mall just to find her, the ring hidden inside a dark red box. He saw security guards surrounding the building and panicked.
"Please, let me in!" He had shouted, ignoring what the men said. "I don't care if there's a fire - I need to find my girlfriend!"
He pushed past the guards, running through the mall as if his life depended on it. That was when he saw her.
Standing in the middle of the fire, a bottle of gasoline in her hands, was Meiko. Her skin was shining, he realized. She was on fire, the one who caused it. A smile was on her face, a murderous one. Kaito didn't cry, he shouted;
"Meiko!"
"Can you see, baby?" Meiko asked, knowing these were her last words. "I'm porcelain, I'm a doll - I never loved you."
Kaito whimpered, the words hitting him like a million slaps in the face.
"My creator, I killed him, but for a price." She continued, "My life is over and yours will be soon...you'll see."
He watched her fall, he watched her artificial life end. He laughed bitterly, all the pieces fitting together.
"It's fine," He muttered dryly, to her body, "I never loved you anyway."
"That's a lie, Kai-kun." A voice said from below him, "You always loved me, with your whole heart - you loved something unreal, didn't you? I still love you in this tiny body, so don't worry, I'll be here forever."
What else could Kaito expect to find underneath himself, but a doll?
He picked it up and kissed it, hoping that somehow it's tiny, porcelain lips would kiss him back.
Is love really this twisted?
Hey, look! It's a oneshot that makes no sense whatsoever!
Don't even ask what I'm on about in this - because I have no clue at all! :D
HAVE A NICE DAY! *shot*
