Marco had finally had enough. This job was killing him, and he barely was paid a livable wage! He was honestly almost to the point of quitting, but he knew him and Star needed the income. So what he worked at little crappy King's Pizza? Him and Star needed the money more than he needed his dignity. Ever since she had renounced her crown, and agreed to live with him, she received little to no aid from her Mother and Father. So, he walked into the restaurant for another terrible and boring shift.

Until, that is, when he saw his boss, Jonathan Lee, crying at one of the tables. While him and Marco were not friends, per say, they still got along. As a result, he built up his courage and walked over to him.

"Hey, uh Jon. Johnny-boy, Mr. Leeee, bosso man," Marco awkwardly said, while Jon continued bawling his eyes out. "Alright, that was bad, but Jon, what's wrong? You okay?"

"Nothing…*hic*...nothing is okay. I lost it Marco," Jon replied depressingly.

"Lost it? Lost what?"

"The restaurant Marco. I lost it. I'm so sorry. I'll recommend you to a few friends, but for now you're gonna have to look for a new job."

Marco couldn't believe it. On one hand, he was happy to be out of there, yet he couldn't afford their little dingy apartment. He barely had five hundred dollars in the bank, not even enough for rent. Him and Star would be homeless in less than two weeks. He couldn't go back home, what kind of loser goes back home at twenty-four? He should've went to college. He shouldn't have let Star give up her crown, not even for him. So many things, but nothing that he could do now to fix.

He walked out, heading back to his apartment, trying desperately to find some way to explain to Star what happened and how he would fix it. 'I don't think there IS a way to fix this, we might just be truly screwed.' As he walked down the street, ideas began to spring into his head. If he was lucky enough, maybe he could get a loan from his parents. Open that store him and Star wanted to open, their own little magic mayhem paradise. Star still had her wand, after a copy was made for her so she wasn't defenceless. Maybe, just maybe this could work.

As he approached his apartment, he knew today could only go up.
