"Kagome?" Kagome looked up to see Inuyasha, shirtless, standing over her, looking down intently. Inuyasha shook his head gently, letting water droplets rain down on Kagome. He sat down next to her, and continued looking at her.
"Yes Inuyasha?" "Nothing, Kagome." Inuyasha looked away, and shook his head again. Kagome sighed, and stood up, walking slowly over to the edge of the river Inuyasha had been bathing in.
He must notice me, of course he does. Does he care...? Would he miss me if I left? Does he realize how much I need him? This shouldn't hurt so much... Inuyasha leapt up, keeping close to Kagome. When she stopped at the water's edge, he stepped up behind her, and wrapped his arms around her slim waist. Kagome settled back against the sturdy frame, and sighed lightly. Inuyasha leaned down, and placed a tender kiss on her cheek, and nuzzled her shoulder.
"Kagome, I... I love you Kagome." Oh, my love, I've longed to hear that... but do you mean it? Can this be true...? Surely, I do not take the place of Kikyou. Am I to share the space in your heart? I don't want to do that... but... I will, because I love you.
Kagome turned in his arms, and looked up at him, looked into his wide, amber eyes. He looked as shocked as she did, if not more so at this admission. Yet, he held her closer, and crushed his mouth to hers. Kagome snak further into the embrace, not knowing whether she wanted to cry, or jump for joy more. Inuyasha pulled away, and kissed her forehead. "Do you feel the same way Kagome?" Inuyasha sounded a bit worried that she might not, and looked as if he might break were his feelings unrequited. Kagome had a few tears glisteing in her eyes, and nodded, slowly finding the strength to speak.
"Yes, oh, yes I do Inuyasha. I love you more than I thought I could. More than I ever thought I should... You are my world, my dreams, my past, my future..." Kagome blushed after saying this, wondering if she had overspoke. "Then I suppose that it is alright for me to tell you that I wish to be with you, always... For as long as you'll stay, for as long as you'll have me. Even if that is only for one day..."
