After parking my Jaguar Convertible in the parking lot, I head inside for my interview. I know a lot about NCIS and what they do here because my aunt was the director of NCIS before the current director. She died in a shooting a few years ago while on a mission in Walking up to the front desk, a secretary looks up probably wondering why a civilian is on the Naval Base. I state my name and my reason for being here;

"Hello, my name is Destinee Linscott. I'm here for an interview with…. (looking in my purse for a business card) Director Leon Vance."

The secretary glances at me then looks something up on her computer,

"Sure, I have you scheduled in for an interview with him at 11:00."

She reaches behind her for a clear plastic bucket, "If you could put your purse in this bucket and walk through the metal detector. You can pick up your purse on your way out. Do you need anything out of your purse?"

Looking over at her I say, "Yes, I need my phone".

After getting my phone from my purse the secretary asks me to make my way through the metal detectors.

"All right, you're all set", she says, handing me a visitor's badge, "You can wait in the waiting room. A agent will be down to get you shortly", she says while pointing to a room directly behind me.

Waking into the waiting room, I glance around notice that the waiting room looks remarkably like a hospital waiting room. I don't have to wait long. Within a few minutes I hear footsteps in the corridor. A smartly dressed women, who I presumed to be a NCIS Special Agent, comes into the room.

She looks directly at me and says,"Please follow me the director is waiting for you."

Her badge identifies her as Kate Todd. She leads me into an elevator, accessible only by a scanned badge. We go up two floors, directly into what looks like the squad room for the MCRT (Major Case Response Team). Walking towards the back of the squad room, we go up a short flight of steps onto a balcony of sorts that over looks the squad room. Special Agent Todd leads me through a set of double doors.

"Please wait here," she says.

Sitting down in a leather arm chair, I check my voicemail. I hear a door open and look up to see a tall man in a suit open one of the doors.

Looking at me, he says; "You must be Destinee Shepherd".

Standing up, I answer in a slightly shaky voice: "Yes, that's me. I'm glad you had time to interview me today."

Director Vance smiles and leads me into a room that's even bigger then the waiting room downstairs. There's a long conference table on one side of the room. A flat screen tv is mounted on the wall above the table and a faint smell of licorice is in the air. There must be a candle lit somewhere. Six leather bound rolling desk chairs are grouped around the table. A desk of black wood grain is kitty cornered to face the door I just walked through.
