It was all too familiar to me. Both of them, each person different but ultimately the same.
When they first came to me I intended to fail them, just like the others. But they were different. Despite the fact they didn't get along all that well, they still protected each other. Just like us.
Take Sakura, kind, and helpful. A medical ninja. Obsessed with the cold member of the team, who ignored her unless necessary.
Sasuke, cold, separate from the rest of the team, an Uchiha.
And Naruto, loud, obnoxious, loves ramen.
All of them showed the similarities that proved all too painful for me.
Sakura was exactly like Rin, a kind helpful person and an excellent medical ninja.
Sasuke was exactly like me, but holds the Uchiha heritage of Obito.
Naruto had the same personality as Obito, loud and annoying. And the looks of the Yondaime.
It was all too familiar to me.
The members of my first team are dead now; they left me on my own to survive. I had no-one.
The members of my second team, one of them is dead now. Sasuke died of injuries sustained on a mission in Wind country.
Sakura is happily married to Lee and works in the hospital, one of the many medical ninja there.
Naruto. He finally achieved his dream. The Rokudaime Hokage is his title now, after Tsunade retired last year.
And my life has just carried on. I completed mission after mission, leant jutsu after jutsu. But it's no help now.
One of my more serious mission injuries, thought fully healed, has reared its head again. Now, my heart is failing and there is no chance for me.
My last wish, Naruto, Sakura, is for you to life your lives as best you can and protect those precious to you. You were the last happiness in my life and I wish you the best. This is the final goodbye.
Hatake Kakashi slowly rolled up the scroll and gently placed on the table next to the bed he lay in.
As he stared at the ceiling one last time, he wished his teams all the happiness they could get.
He closed his eyes and the heart monitor flattened.
