I have decided to take part of the Story Dare challenge.
I have picked the challenge of: writing a platonic Toni and Jughead with Toni giving Jughead relationship advice.
Toni sat down next to Jughead on the front steps of Southside High. "What some friendly advice?" She looked out at the parking lot.
Jughead just stared across the parking lot. "No." He finally spoke.
Toni leaned back on her elbows; her legs out stretched on the stairs. "Too bad Jones. You are going to get the advice. Weather you want your ears to be open or not." She blew a bubble of her gum. "If you don't want to lose your girl ... then you have to fight for her."
Jughead turned his head and met the eyes of the female serpent whom was to spy on him. "I'm doing everything in my power to protect Betty. I will not allow Betty to be dragged down in this shit hole that I currently am forced to be." He didn't give a damn if what he had just said got back to the older Serpents. Back to his dad whom was behind bars. He was very angry at the situation that his father had put him in.
Toni stared stonily into Jughead eyes. "You think you can scare me with that tone of yours Jones?" She shook her head. "Please."
Leaning forward until his face was just inches away. "If you or the Serpents think about going after Betty ever. Then you will be in a world of pain." His eyes slanted. "Even if anyone wants to get revenge on Alice. Betty, Polly and the twins are off limits." He moved another inch. "Get me."
Toni nodded once.
Jughead leaned back.
"You really love her don't you?" Toni sat up.
Jughead's heart hurt. "She's not mine. She was never meant to be mine."
"She cares for you." Toni looked at the side of Jughead's face. "Deeply."
Jughead sighed deeply through his painful lungs.
"So here is a piece of friendly advice." Toni leaned forward. "Don't give up on love when your very first relationship ends in heart break. Your soulmate is out there. You just sometimes have to search for her or him."
"Try telling that to Archie Andrews." Jughead sighed as he finally turned to meet Toni's eyes.
Toni lifted her right eye brow. "I think Archie Andrews deserves whatever he is going to be getting at the end of his current relationship."
Jughead left eye brow rose as he nodded. His anger over what Archie did earlier in the year still held true to his heart. He still couldn't believe that Archie so willing hurt Betty (fully knowing how she felt for him for years and years) ... and for Betty to still treating Archie as she always had.
