Hi! Thank you to all who reviewed. This is the continuation of part one. Enjoy!
Young Joe Part 2
Joe was in the hospital. He would be there for a long time. He found out he would need glasses because one of his eyes was higher than the other one(from the fall) and he would need braces because in reality his teeth really were rearanged. His dad and brother came to visit often. His friends came to visit once too.
"Wow Joe! What happened to your face?" exclaimed one of his friends
"Your eyes! It's making me sick! And your teeth!!" said another.
Joe couldn't take his friends reaction to him. He told them to leave. He was so sad. He still hadn't quite recovered from the shock of his fall and his mothers death. He didn't remember anything from then. All he remembered was an ambulence and then him in the hospital. He didn't know why but for some reason he couldn't stop crying.
After some time (it was all a blur to Joe) he got to go home. H had a cast on one of his arms and stiches in the other one. He got his glasses as promised as well as his braces. He had to spend a lot of time with himself because his dad was still going to med-school. His brother had to go to school. Joe noticed both of them were crying a lot too. He wondered why. One of his friends came over once. He left right away. He got board because Joe couldn't do much. In 2 weeks he had to go back to school.
Joe arived at school for his first day in a long time. The first thing to happen when he got there was his teacher walked up to him and said:
"Joe I am so sorry about your Mother!"
"Why are you sorry?(Joe still could not remember)"
"Why, about your mother umm, going away."
"Oh, yea she just went on vacation."
"Right Joe, right."
Joe walked away. He thought he heard his teacher say somthing about "Denial Phase". He went into the class room. All his friends were avoiding him for some reason. He didn't know why. He found out why. It was because his face still had scars on it and his teeth were still crooked. And that he had glasses and braces. Joe ran home with tears in his eyes. He told his brother about it. He said:
"Don't worry about it bro, if they aren't being your friend for something as little as that then they weren't very reliable friends to begin with."
One night Joe had a strange dream. It replayed everything that happened that day. He woke up in cold sweat. He remembered everything. He started to cry. He screamed for his mom to come back. He wanted to be with his mother. His dad came in. He tried to comfort Joe but he would just keep crying. He said:
"If only I had been more prepared! Mom said you must always be prepared for everything! It's all my fault!!"
For a very long time all Joe could do to keep him from bursting into tears was to follow his mothers words. He always had a medical-pack in his backpack. All he would do all day was study. It was all he could do. His friends deserted him, his mom was gone, and his dad was always gone at school to. People started to make fun of him. Calling him names about his glasses and braces. And about how all he did was study. From Joe's point of view his life was a big room. Now his "room" was filling with darkness. He thought his life would be over. Untill one light shone through all the darkness and helped him.
