Now on to the story!
Sunrise. The sun rose over the lake at Hogwarts. It peeked out from behind the horizon. The sky was a glorious orange and blue with some yellow here and there. The sun's rays were like dripping honey onto the earth.
Harry Potter never thought before the Battle of Hogwarts he would see another sunrise. But here he stood watching the sun reach into the sky. There was so many today that wouldn't see the sunrise ever again. They were, well, gone. The four letter word gone hurt Harry like a dagger. So many people died for him. They were gone, but yet here he stood watching the sun rise once again. Hogwarts was destroyed, there was much repairing to be done. For everyone there was much repairing to be done physically and mentally. Every time a friend fell a sharp pain shot through him similar to a bullet. He finally felt at peace, but still there was one thing missing from him. It wasn't the many that died, he wanted. It was someone who was still living. But whenever she was not by his side, his heart was empty. Right now that was the only thing he wanted, the only thing he desired. The only one he truly ever loved was with someone else. She was in love with someone else and that brought more pain to his heart than anything. Seeing them together. They were perfect for each other Harry guessed.
"Harry?" It was a voice. The voice that would make his heart leap with joy no matter what situation he may be in. "Hermione," Harry's voice was barely audible only Hermione could hear. Harry felt the warmth of her arm wrap around him. Harry looked into her honey coloured eyes. As Hermione looked into his forest green eyes. He felt the same feeling he always felt when with her. Love. But she was with Ron and he was with Ginny. Yet everything felt right with Hermione. She was always there for him and he was always there for her even in the darkest of times.
"Harry, what's on your mind?"
"The war, those who have gone, Voldemort, my friends, Hogwarts... you." Hermione smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder like a couple would do. Except they weren't a couple.
"Harry, what do you think about Ginny?"
"She is a nice girl and I like her, but there is someone who I love more." Harry sighed and looked at the rising sun, but took a quick glance at Hermione. "What do you think about Ron?" Harry asked, curious. "Oh, well, he is fine and oh I don't know. I don't think our relationship will last." Harry was taken back by this, but steadily replied, "Why do you think that?" Hermione looked up at Harry and smiled, "there is someone else who I love more." A silence fell over the two. It wasn't awkward it was nice and quiet and beautiful. Just like the sun rising above the horizon.
"Harry?"
"Yes"
"I love you."
"I love you, too." The two never thought they would admit their love for each other, but they did and finally Harry Potter and Hermione Granger could be at peace, together.
