*Author POV*
There was a kingdom with one inhabitant. The one loner was the prince. Percy Jackson ruled over the bushes and sand dunes. His kingdom was a desert. The prince's palace was an old wooden crate and the royal garments consisted of old rags. The generous land was given by the young prince's grandfather, Kronos.
The prince was humble, kind, loyal, and generous. Those were his downfall, along with his dashing good looks. Prince Percy has a 6 foot build with lean muscles. He has midnight black hair and surprising and gorgeous sea green eyes that contrasted with the scenery. His clothes were cargo shorts and a faded sea green shirt. Both had a fair share of holes and dirt stains. Percy had been wearing these same clothes for over 18 months. He is 18 years old.
Percy got in this position about 6 months ago. Previously he had been a slave to his grandfather or have his people be killed off one by one. Being the guy he was, he chose to serve Kronos. He had been his slave for a year before being banished. Even though Percy was willing to obey Kronos's every command if it meant the safety of his people, Kronos would torture and beat the kind hearted prince. But that is a story to be told later.
*Present* Percy POV
I had about an hour before nightfall and all the creatures that came with it appeared. I had just gotten back from hunting whatever food I might find. Though it wasn't much, I had made myself a meal of a desert rat and a prickly pear. I made my way back to my home. It rested on top of a pile of rocks, one of the only places without sand. That itself would be punishment enough, because I love the water and all, for my father is Posiden, the Water God.
I had made it to the pile of rocks. I laid down on the make-shift bed that consisted of soft sand and an old plaid button down shirt. I was so tired from the day, like the previous others, that I fell asleep very quickly.
-Line Break-
I woke up the next morning to a kick in the stomach. I looked up to find Luke, Kronos's right hand man. Man, was it a horrible disturbing sight. The guy was all proper and fancily dressed with jewels adorning his clothes. I'm like seriously man! Desert here!
"Perseus Jackson, you have been summoned by Supreme Emperor Kronos to his palace whether you wish to or not," he said. I finally got a good look around me, now that I have been forced up unto my feet. Behind Luke the puke was another five of his companions. Not that I recognized any.
"Good Morning to you to, Kronos's brainwashed buddy," I replied. That earned by a punch in the face, though it didn't affect me. I had received worse for a year in a row.
