Hiei looked in apprehension as Kurama went to face his former friend alone.
"NOOooo . . ."
Hiei flinched as he heard Kurama's screams, but he stopped the Reikai Tantei from stepping in. Yuusuke gave the fire
demon a concerned look, but Hiei didn't notice. The little black haired demon looked into the fog that shrouded the battle
that went on within. Hiei felt Kurama's
youki(spirit energy) flare.
*Kurama won't fail! My youko will win*
Hiei realized what Kurama meant to him and thought with
uncertainty
*My youko*
Kurama stepped out of the fog, cut and bleeding. Hiei was suddenly at his side; and before Kuwabara walked over and
Hiei slipped on a cold, expressionless mask, Kurama was startled to see Hiei's anger and concern about his wounds.
Kurama just kept looking at Hiei in wonder.
*Did Hiei care!? Does he even like me?!? Does he understand how I feel about him, how just looking into his red eyes
makes my heart beat faster?*
Kuwabara looked at Kurama, then at Hiei, and then back at Kurama. He grinned and said, "I thought you were
gone!"
"Hn . . ."
Hiei sighed and stepped
away.
Kurama looked at Hiei out of the corner of his eyes and
sighed.
"NO, I'm fine," the graceful red-head said though he couldn't quite keep the pain and hurt he felt inside from he
breathtaking voice.
As Hiei looked around he noticed the sword wielding youkai(demon) with a jagan(a third eye-sign of strong physic power:
Hiei-chan has one too!)
The youkai took over the half-Koorime's mind; forcing Hiei to transform into his Maijin(green, jagan covered) form.
Kurama stared in horror as Kokkuryuha(the black fire dragon that Hiei controls) came lancing towards him, then turned
around, consuming Hiei's controller. Before Hiei collapsed from exhaustion, Kurama could have sworn he saw the stern
fire demon wink!
After the Reikai Tantei defeated the evil demons and saved Ningenkai, Makai, and Reikai (the human, demon, and spirit
worlds), they returned to the temple to check on Yukina and Botan. Hiei, upon making sure that Yukina had recovered,
checked the area from a tree just outside the temple. He turned as he felt Kurama coming towards him.
*I don't want him to know how I feel. Why would a marvelous creature like Kurama want him, a forbidden child!?*
Kurama watched as Hiei turned away from him and sped away from the temple. The red-head followed the youkai's youki
until it was too faint to trace.
As Hiei was turned away he saw the crystalline tears fall from Kurama's gorgeous, sad, green eyes. Hiei stopped as his
chest constricted with a pain he didn't understand.
Kurama just told his heart to stop seeking Hiei, but the tears just streamed down as he watched Hiei
go.
