A/N: This takes place directly after the Bin Laden broadcast in Season One's 5/1.

Signing off for the night to applause from newsroom, Will took off his headset, smiled and leaned back in his chair. The broadcast had been a rousing success and Osama Bin Laden had gotten what was coming to him. Mac approached the desk, happiness and pride beaming from very pore.

Will scooped her into his arms and waltzed her around the set, singing Drift Away in her ear. He dipped her and she giggled, which delighted him even more.

He was still high on success and pot cookies and the woman in his arms.

They danced cheek to cheek and he pulled back and looked into her eyes.

"We got Obama," he whispered and she giggled again. "I mean Osama."

"I know, Billy."

He twirled her around, not caring who was watching, and back into his arms.

He leaned in close to her ear. She could feel his breath on her skin. "You know some skeptics said it would never happen, but some things, the things that are really worth it, take time. They take work and planning and courage and they may take ten years, but eventually, we get the prize."

He was looking at her lips now, still holding her close.

"I completely agree," she said, moving her hand from his shoulder to his back, pressing into him as he swayed with her in his arms. It was the closest they'd been, physically, since she'd come back and she wished they could stay this way forever.

Will danced her to the door, let her go, took a step back and bowed. Mackenzie curtsied and nodded, laughing the entire time.

"You have the best laugh," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Did I ever tell you that?"

"You have," she replied, not elaborating that he'd told her so on their first date.

Will opened the door for her and they walked into the newsroom where the rest of the staff were starting to file out. They'd been on the air for hours, but some of them were still planning to go out and celebrate.

Mackenzie started back to her office. She couldn't remember a better night in recent memory.

She looked back at Will, as he headed to his office, and said, "Hey."

He turned around, a dreamy look on his face.

Mac gazed as him for just a moment before saying, "Thank you."

Will thought he was wrinkling his brow in confusion, but considering he couldn't feel his face, he wasn't sure. "For what."

"For being you," she replied genuinely and smiled before turning around and going to her office.

Will opened his mouth to reply, but couldn't think of anything intelligent to say. He paused for a minute, simply winked at her, before resuming his way back to his office. I'll call her later, he thought, grabbing his jacket and heading for the elevators.
