Artemis Fowl, 11 years old, was quite puzzled by the letter in his hands. This letter told him he was accepted into a school that taught magic. He knew magic existed, but he didn't believe for a minute any of the things that were in the letter. He was not magical, and he would never be. He was human, and humans had no magical ability. If they did, he was certain that all of humanity would already be aware.

But, the letter was rather convincing. Unfortunately, he could not ask his parents, due to his mother being delusional, and his father was missing. There was only one option left.

"Butler!" He called, waiting for the Eurasian bodyguard to arrive. He didn't need to even wait for a minute, because Butler came to him quickly.

"Yes, Artemis?"

Artemis handed the letter to Butler. "What do you think of that letter? I'm currently quite conflicted, and I need somebody's thoughts." He let his gaze wander for a minute, before it abruptly landed back on Butler as the man replied.

"Artemis, it does seem true." Butler watched his charge for a response, but all that showed on Artemis's face was an interested expression.

"Hm. I'll take the letter now, Butler," He took the letter from Butler, thinking at high speed. "I'll be up in my room, do not interrupt me for approximately 20 minutes." He headed to his room, completely aware of Butler's eyes following him.

Closing the door behind him, Artemis took a piece of paper and thought on how to respond to the peculiar letter. After a moment, he began to write.

To Albus Dumbledore,

It would appear that you are under the belief that I have magic. I have no way to disprove this, but it seems that you think I am aware of this. However, I am not. I request that I get a guide of sorts, as I am interested. Thank you.

From,

Artemis Adran Fowl the Second

Artemis went to get an envelope, and put the paper in it. He walked over to his window. Spotting an owl, the same that had delivered the letter, he opened the window. He set the envelope down, and the owl flew down to the window sill. Sighing, Artemis gave the letter to the owl, who flew away.

He took note of the owl's path, and went to ask Butler to make a salad.

The next day, there was a knock at the manor's door. Artemis had Butler get it. Normally, he would ask Juliet to open the door, but Juliet was caring for his mother, and Artemis had no wish to disturb Juliet and his mother.

Standing at the door was a man with the most twkinly eyes in existence, and with him was a man with dark robes.

Butler had no outward response to the two men, but he was very confused. He decided to let Artemis handle this, just this once. And that's totally not because Artemis was the Fowl here.

"Ah," Artemis's voice arrived. "Welcome to Fowl Manor. It is a pleasure to meet possible wizards." Artemis stood by Butler's side, looking up at the two men.

"Why, hello, Mr. Fowl." The man with the twinkling eyes smiled. The other man, however, simply stared down at Artemis with disdain.

"I believe you two will be guiding me? Or am I wrong?" Artemis observed the men, curiosity ripping through his usually almost emotionless eyes.

"You are correct, young man."

Diagon Alley was... Odd, very much so. But it was also interesting so, that was a plus.

Artemis would be getting his supplies for Hogwarts.
