A/N: Bwahaha. Okay, this was written for the Dads & Daughters Challenge by AsterLea on the HPFC forums. I got pairing #11, Molly Weasley II and Percy Weasley. This turned out a lot darker than I'd've hoped, and I think I'm going to write another fluffy one from when Molly was a little girl just because I don't like this one much. Heh.

"Dad," she cried, tears streaming freely down her face.

The man kept walking, his pace brisk and his gait stiff.

"Dad, please!" continued the girl, locks of deep-red hair tumbling down around her face and shoulders.

He stopped.

"Molly," his tone was cold as ice and twice as sharp, "just go. Go to your mother. Leave me alone for a moment."

Molly, tears flowing, hair flying, stood up shakily and ran to her mother, who embraced her daughter quietly.

"Percy," the woman's voice was smooth and melodious, water rushing against a small pebble.

"Why don't you hear her out, Percy? Goodness knows it would do you both some good," she told him, before patting her daughter on the cheek one more time and apparating away.

"Why, Molly," he said, "why would you do this? To me? To your mum? To your cousin?"

"Dad, I - I ... I don't know, Dad," she confessed in a tiny voice.

"I was so, so, so selfish, Dad! I know I was! I shouldn't have gone against you or mum! I shouldn't have ripped Lysander away from Rose. I shouldn't have done a lot of things, Dad. But they're done now, and I feel horrible, but there's nothing we can do," she continued, "so please, Dad! Please!"

"I.. Molly, I love you. I do. I'm your father, dear Merlin! I can't not love you. But this - I - you - I thought your mum and I had raised you better than this!" sputtered Percy.

"You did. Look how Lucy turned out, she's married, she has kids already! I just... I... I'm not going to make excuses. I was wrong. I'm sorry."

A ghost of a smile flitted past Percy's face.

Minutes passed, and the silence stayed. It was beautiful, poetic almost, the silence.

"Alright then, Molly. I... I forgive you," he said, "but if this happens again, I won't be so forgiving."

"Yessir!" she grinned, hugging her father tightly.

The man looked shocked for a second, but wrapped his arms around his daughter's torso and swung her around like she was a little girl again anyway.

(Because we all know that not everybody gets their fairytale ending, but we can come close.)
