Summary: Naruto is feeling insecure, so someone helps him get over it. KibaNaru.

I had been staring at him for the last fifteen minutes, yet his eyes still looked vapid and blank. I started to wave my hand in his face since I knew I had to do something. His flat affect remained, however. I gazed at him for quite a few more moments until his eyes alighted with hope. It didn't blaze in his eyes like most of his emotions did though. He turned to me his face trusting, yet cautious. "Kiba," He whispered "Thank you,"

I felt arms wrap around my torso and his face bury into my chest, so that a mop messy blonde hair was placed right below my face. Heat quickly raced up to my face at the sudden intrusion to my personal space. I sat there not really knowing how to respond. I had no clue why he made such a big deal about this. It wasn't his choice to have the bloodthirsty Kyubi sealed away inside in him. On top of that, it's not like that fact effected how Naruto behaved around me, or his other friends. The blonde who was clinging to me, when he wasn't being irritatingly over confident, stuck with people he cared for no matter what. I knew whiskers would never betray me or any of the people I cared about, so why did it matter what happened in his past. I returned to the situation at hand and did the only thing I could think of, I draped my arms around my friends upper body and pulled him closer towards me. Apparently, I did the right thing because I felt Naruto relax against my body. I didn't even realize he was that tense. "You okay?" I needed to make sure he wasn't thinking what I thought he was thinking.

He wormed his way deeper in to my grasp "I'm a lot better now, thanks,"

There was a big space of silence before Naruto opened his mouth again. "Hey, Kiba?"

"Can you just stay here, with me?"

I smiled "Of course, I promise."

He lifted his head and smiled back, and I knew that was a promise that was going to be easy to keep.
