((What would really happen in one of those gay "oh dear I fell into the videogame" fanfics))
Crystal Diamond Amanda Sally was extremely bored one day. It wasn't just your typical sense of boredom, but an ennui so painful that even emo-esque wrist-dicing wouldn't cover it. Nothing interested her in life anymore: school, boys, ambitions. Pooey. The only solace she found was in tearing through the streets of Haven as everyone's favorite renegade.
Night after night she sat perched before her television, eyes wide and unblinking, jaw set in determination. She worshipped the damn game, taking to hissing Mar's name in place of God's at the drop of the hat. Whenever she turned off the game and crawled into bed, she would tilt her head to the starry sky slung outside of her window, and would stroke the wild locks of her Jak doll's hair like a rosary. Starlight, star bright, she would pray, take me away from this place. Take me to Haven City.
Of course, she never really believed that her obsessive wishing would ever amount to anything.
One day, after she sped home from school and flung her backpack into the darkest recesses of her room, CDAS pressed down the power button. Her heart gave a jolt when the red light flickered to green and, as a small smile flitted over her features, she felt her body fall hard to the floor-no, through it. The floor seemed to give way, and she found herself gliding through a current of numbers and codes, her wrists bound by wires that guided her through the river. An electric whir thrilled through her veins and sparkled over her tongue.
She opened her mouth to laugh, or scream, only to bite into cement and dirt. Groaning, CDAS scrambled to her feet. The metallic taste in her mouth denoted blood, but she quickly forgot about that as soon as she saw where she was:
Haven City.
The rhythm of her heart went haywire.
Omigod! This is Jak II!! There're the civilians, the zoomers, the houses! She twirled and twirled in the polluted air, laughing through blood-stained and chipped teeth. Never before had she felt this sort of excitement. Finally. I'm finally away from that hell-hole of world!!!
There was a sudden commotion. CDAS whirled around to locate the source of sudden shouting and gunfire, and nearly fainted when her eyes were met with Jak and Daxter, sprinting towards her. Jak's torso was twisted so that he could fire at the oncoming KG's. CDAS sputtered, and then, abandoning all sense of dignity, she rushed forward to embrace him. As she threw her arms about his shoulders, Daxter gave a yelp, and Jak spun his head about.
Those beautiful blue eyes. How many times had she pressed herself flush against the television screen to try to bring their magnificence into perfect clarity. "Jak, I-" Her words were cut short as a bullet exploded through her heart. Mouth agape and pools of blood forming in her lower lip, CDAS fell slowly to the sullied ground. The last image she beheld before dying was that of her beloved renegade leaning over her, his the barrel of his gun issuing a coil of smoke.
Darkness.
