What the hell?
Chasing Victoria seemed like an everyday thing for Emmett Cullen. Everyday she managed to elude the vampires and shape-shifters and left them feeling humiliated. Emmett has chased and brought down countless vampires in his life and she was the first to ever survive an encounter with him. The same went for Jasper too.
This woman was something else.
It's the mutts problem now, he thought backing away from the treaty line and retreated back home. The intoxicating scent of Bella Swan filled the air and he immediately held his breath. Though Edward told her almost everybody was use to her scent that was only true for Carlisle. Everyone else still wanted to rip out her throat and drink her blood.
Rosalie, his wife, greeted him at the door and her usual scowl was gone. The pleasant smile that resided on her face was finally showing itself, after a year and a half of being dormant. If she was smiling in Bella's presence, which must mean something horrible happened.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Oh…that Jacob Black imprinted and has completely abandon Bella. Edward had to drive her home because she was so hysterical." Rosalie said, her smile only growing wider, making her look more like an angel by the second. "Maybe now he can see that she wasn't entirely faithful."
"Rose, he is…was Bella's bestfriend. That's a normal reaction." Emmett sighed and tried to ignore his wife's cruelty towards his brother's girlfriend. "So the mutt just cut things off with Bella?"
"Bella said he called her many things and none of them were very…nice. Cruel if you can say. I'm not a fan of the dog but its good to see him realize that Bella is a self-centered selfish whore." Rosalie was talking so fowl of Bella, Emmett guessed they had the house to themselves.
"Where's Carlisle and Esme?"
"Some people called and offered us some assistance. Apparently Victoria has really gotten around in the past fifty years."
"The dogs are going to be furious. The more vampires that come the harder it will be to keep our secret."
"Who said our new arrivals were vampires?"
