The Case of the Jealous Melon Lover

Who killed Kaji?
In an interview with Hideaki Anno, he said that it was not one of the well-known characters that killed Kaji that fateful night, such as Misato, Gendo, or Ritsuko.
Well then, who was it? I believe it was the "Other" characters. The "less desirable" characters. They thought that if they killed Kaji, they would be recognized and finely get the recognition deserved of them. But alas, it was not to be. The creators found out about what happened and covered it up by implying that it was a more desirable, prettier, character's actions.
Another theory is that it was that "Other" longhaired male. Yes, I am referring to none other then Shigeru Aoba. He was resentful of the fact that he had been on the show since the beginning, yet was never as widely known and admired as Kaji. So he had asked Kaji to meet him so he could ask Kaji for hair tips. Poor Kaji, just an innocent bystander caught in the middle of one man's jealous tendencies.
Theory three goes against what Anno has said about the killer, but it should still be heard.
It was Gendo. As you all know, Kaji had a small melon patch, which Shinji found and after Kaji's death took care of it. Well, one day, Gendo found out about Kaji's secret stash of Melons…and ate one. Yes, he ate something that did not belong to him. In fact, he violated Kaji's melons if you will. After eating said melon, he realized that they were quite delicious and wanted them only for himself. He became blinded by jealousy, he couldn't think straight, he didn't want anyone to see his now beloved melons. So, he killed their maker. Sad, but true.

Sidenote to Theory 2 by Witz ----------------- How'd you guys like that theory, huh? Well, I just wanted to let you know that I made up the violated melons part. I know, I know, you probably think I'm just saying that to take all of the fame and glory away from Tink, but really, I was the one who started it all. See, a while ago when I was over at Tink's house, we were doing some anime pondering, and one of the subjects was Kaji's death, where Tink explained to me about the melon patch. Then I gasped and said that Gendo violated Kaji's melons! And well, the rest is history.
