Cecilia Lisbon's Thoughts on Dying
As she stood on the window sill looking down she thought of many things. Her mind wandered back to her previous attempt to take her life and frowned as she remembered the doctor's words. How could he possibly know what she had to face in her life?
She sighed and looked down up at the clouds forming in the sky. They were so beautiful. So magical.
"That's where I want to be."
She thought about her parents and her sisters. She didn't really give a damn about what her mother would think when she discovered what Cecilia had done. She knew that her mother never really had cared about her anyway. She was always too bust worrying about the trouble Lux was getting herself into.
She knew her sisters would get over it. They always got over the horrors in their lives. They would be sad, but they would move on.
But her dad, he was another story. He was the only person Cecilia was afraid to hurt. And she knew that he would be hurt. But she had to escape.
She looked back down at the ground. She could see the spikes from the wrought iron fence and she wondered if it would hurt when she landed on them, or if she would die instantly.
She could hear the sounds of the party below. Could hear Lux laughing and thought of her older sister, swinging her blonde hair around to show off her shoulders. The guys were all probably crowded around her, like usual. And Lux was probably smiling that tiny smile that made them all melt.
And it didn't hurt this time, when she thought about how beautiful Lux was. She had always known she was the plainer sister. Nothing hurt at all really. Nothing.
"And soon, nothing will ever again."
She smiled slightly, and stepped forward. Slowly, slowly, inching forward til she felt nothing but air and her antique wedding dress billowing out.
And then she was flying.
And she was free.
