Date Night: GSR Style
"It's so nice to have a night off for once." Sara said to her husband who was sitting on the couch.
"Yeah, I remember the days when I had to work doubles and sometimes triples." Grissom sympathized.
"Do you miss those days?" Sara asked as she plopped down next to him.
"Yeah, more then you'd think." Grissom admitted.
Sara nodded in understanding.
"So what do you want to do on your night off?" Grissom asked changing the subject.
"I don't know, we could see a movie." Sara suggested.
"Or, there is a bug themed art exhibit in one of the hotels on the strip tonight." Grissom said, he looked at Sara with hopeful eyes.
She saw the look on his face and burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Grissom asked perplexed.
"Your face looks like that of a child when the circus is in town." Sara replied.
Grissom grinned at her. "So does that mean you'll go with me?" he asked.
"Alright, we can go." She said.
Truth be told she really didn't want to go but she could tell how much it meant to Grissom.
"Thank you." He said.
She just smiled and shook her head at him.
A few hours later she and Grissom were off to the exhibit. As soon as they walked into the room Grissom's face lit up.
Sara looked at him and smirked.
"What?" Grissom asked after seeing the look on her face.
"How come you don't light up like that when I walk into the room?" she asked teasingly.
"I do dear." He said.
"No you don't." she argued.
"Sure I do, it might not show on my face but I feel that way in my heart." He said, his tone was like it was when he was reciting Shakespeare."
"Hmm umm." Sara said not at all convinced.
Grissom smiled at her.
"Come on, let's go look around." He said excitedly as he took her hand.
As they walked around the exhibit Sara didn't think she had ever seen Grissom this excited.
They went from table to table to see what kind of bug was on display in the little glass jars they were held in, and with each bug he would tell her what type of bug it was and then give her some little tidbit about it.
Three hours later they had finally looked at every bug in the place and although Sara didn't really enjoy the exhibit that much it was nice to see Grissom have so much fun but the best part was that she and Grissom had finally gotten a night to themselves, with her work schedule that was a fairly rare occurrence.
Once they had gotten back home Sara kicked off her shoes before Grissom grabbed her hand and led her to the couch.
"Thanks for going with me." He said sincerely.
"Sure, it was fun." She fibbed.
"I really do appreciate you going with me. Most women would not want to spend one of their rare date nights at a bug exhibit."
She smiled at him.
"In fact in some marriages that might be cause for a divorce." He added with a laugh.
She laughed too,
"You're welcome, I'm glad you had a good time." She said.
"Come on." He said as he grabbed her hand and pulled her off the couch.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
"I'm not telling you where we are going, all I will say is that the bug exhibit was for me, now we are going to do something that you will enjoy, or at least I hope so." He said with a grin as he moved his eyebrows up and down in a seductive manner.
She grinned back at him as she let him lead her to their bedroom.
The next morning when her eyes fluttered opened she smiled as she looked up at him, her head was on his chest and he had his arm around her. He was fast asleep but there was the slightest hint of a smile on his handsome face and he hadn't been kidding the night before when he'd said she was going to like what they were going to do.
The End!
