Xemans awoke with a jolt, scattering the papers that had been so neatly arranged on the desk before him. He looked around frantically as a horrendous tone assaulted his eardrums, followed by the roar of voices and feet outside the wooden door.

He looked around quickly, confusion and fear flooding his mind. Where were the stark white angles of The Castle That Never Was? The chair was disturbingly soft, the desk before him wasn't angled enough, and the bookshelves were suffering from a lack of spikes. Even the walls were just off-white enough to disturb him.

He massaged his temples, an insidious sense of deja-vu creeping up on him. With a start, he noticed that his robe had been replaced with a well-tailored suit.

At least the tie looked like their emblem.

Taking a moment to force down his new-found emotions, he walked to the door and opened it.

Instantly, he was blasted by a roar of footsteps, conversation, and slamming metal. The hall teemed with countless adolescents, none of them taking notice of The Superior's presence. He scanned the crowd, looking for a familiar face. Ah, there one was:

Saix.

The man waded through the crowd like a bear in a salmon run, not so much slipping between the students as the students getting out of his way. He caught Xemnas's gaze and gave him a dour look.

"What's our status?" asked Xemnas, back in his element.

Saix straightened his tie, which was shaped very much like his leader's. "Numbers Thirteen, Eight, and i are fraternizing with Sora and company, they appear to be 'going native' as it were; Number Twelve is currently at cheer leading practice; Number Ten is teaching statistics while Number Four is teaching chemistry and Number Five is a gym coach; Numbers Two and Three are loitering in front of the school, and Number Nine is in band class."

"I see. And what of Numbers Six and Eleven?"

"Engaged in the act of kissing behind the bleachers, sir."

They paused for a mutual shiver.

"Is this the Witch's doing?" Xemnas asked, seeing a certain blonde-haired girl walk pass on the far side of the hall.

Saix shook his head, "No, sir. It's much worse than that."

"What is it?"

"It seems we have been thrown into a hideously stereotypical High School AU. Again."

Xemnas nodded, processing the news. Afterwards, he opened his mouth, but words failed him. He tried again.

The third time was the charm.

"I think. . . I need to be alone for a little while."

"I understand, sir. I understand."

Is this my response to the High School AU genre as a whole? Perhaps. Either way, I hope you enjoyed it!
