Like a Growing Addiction

Steve never really knew about addiction. He didn't smoke, nor did he do drugs. It wasn't until Danny came into his life that he really started to get a feel for the word. The shorter man was ingrained into his very being. He lived for Danny's rants over the simplest things. It was all a thrill. The more Danny freaked out about something, the more Steve wanted to push those boundaries.

Chin doesn't know. If he does, he doesn't show it. Kono. Kono knows. And she likes to remind him every day about his growing addiction to the blonde.

You're staring again Steve. She'll giggle as she walks past him to her office. He just scoffs and looks away but when his eyes find Danny again a minute later and he hears Kono laugh from the confides her office, he makes up an excuse and hurries away.

Have another car argument with Danny? She asks, eyes twinkling as she looks below his belt and he clears his throat turning away. Damn her for knowing how much those moments turn him on.

If you don't ask him out, I'll drug him for you and drop him off on your front porch. She tells him one day, leaning back against the computer with her arms crossed. She's smiling that mischievous smile of hers, the one that always makes him worry(the girls too much like him for her own good). He doesn't know what horrifies him more, the fact that he knows she'll actually do it or the fact that he's actually contemplating letting her.

For the sake of things, he does ask Danny out. It's better for all of them this way. Of course Danny has something to say about it, he always has something to say. And as he listens to the rant he looks for Kono, the woman gives him the thumbs up from behind her glass office and Chin is there, smiling, as he mouths 'finally'. Bastard. Where was he when he was fending off Kono's intrusion into his love life?

Their date isn't so much a date. It's more like any other time they've hung out. Maybe that's a good thing. It's something normal, something they are both comfortable with. It just seems like Danny is getting drunk a little quicker than normal and he's getting louder. Steve takes this as his cue to get the blonde out of there. He's not nearly as over the top and he manages to drive his Silverado back to his house in one piece, even after Danny gets handsy in the car.

He just manages to close the front door when Danny gives a shout, calling him an idiot neanderthal and then he has a grip on his collar and pulls him down harshly for a kiss. Steve's growing addiction? It only explodes from there.

They don't make it to the bedroom, but neither really care. Steve's more content about getting this addiction out of his system. But every kiss, every touch and every thrust just makes the fire burning inside grow. It's like an inferno and he just keeps heating up. Danny's vocal. He always has been and it only spreads the fire.

Hours later, they're both spent and that feeling he has? It's still there. Only it's worse than before and insatiable. Steve needs Danny's touch now or his skin will burst into flames. Nothing sexual, just a brush of knuckles here and there to know he's still there is okay. Just so he knows that Danny hasn't left him for one reason or another.

Steve McGarrett might not be addicted to the normal things in life, but he's addicted to one Daniel Williams. And you know what? He's okay with that.
