there is just this chapter up for now until i know that people actually like it and will actually read it. when i know that i will add another. hopefully you like the story. right on with the show!
Disclaimer:i don't own the act that some mermaids and mermen have two tails and are different colours. that belongs to peace pheonix.
"Quickly!" a male voice hissed from inside one of the many houses in the area. After a moment a black haired purple eyed merman with two royal purple tails and a medium purple body came out. He looked around warily as a black haired green eyed mermaid with a hunter green tail and a Paris green body, with what looked like a bikini top made out of what looked like beads and bits of green cloth, followed him out of the house, with something wrapped in a baby blue piece of cloth, in her arms.
"Must we do this Jonathan?" the mermaid asked quietly, shifting the bundle in her arms as it began to stir.
"Iona, you must understand. We have to do this if we wish for our daughter to live." Jonathan explained. Iona nodded and looked down at the bundle in her arms, tearfully. They moved quickly through the underwater village, and before they knew it the water started to get shallower as they approached the shore.
"Are you totally sure we must do this?" Iona asked again and her husband sighed and nodded. The bundle began to shift and whimper and Iona began to rock and shush it. The merman sighed once more. He was as upset as his wife was that they had to give up their child. But if they wished for it to live and reach past the age of a babe then they would have to give it up.
As they got closer to the shore they stopped and swam up to the surface. Sticking their heads above water, they looked around for a suitable place to leave their baby. It had to be somewhere safe and somewhere where she would be found quickly. They spotted a cottage a few feet from where the sand started. They went back under and began to swim in the direction of the cottage. As soon as they reached the shore they began to pull themselves out of the water. As soon as they cleared the water, the water began to evaporate from their bodies, turning their tails into legs. It would normally take around and hour for them to dry off properly so that they could go on land, although they didn't go on land all that often as many mer-people despise the humans. The gods must be smiling down on them this day. They stood up on shaky legs and made their way towards the cottage. Once they reached the cottage they place the bundle down on the back doorstep after kissing their daughter's forehead.
"Come. We must get back before anyone realizes that we are gone." The merman murmured, watching as his wife placed their daughter down. He then walked back towards the sea, with his wife following him. Iona stopped just before the water met the sand, and turned back to face where her daughter was, while her husband carried on into the sea and waited further out.
"Goodbye Safyra. This will most likely be the last time you see us." She whispered, and then walking into the sea and swimming away the moment she got her tail back. As if little Safyra had heard what her mother had said, began to cry. Lights turned on inside the cottage as the crying woke up its occupants. Then the back door opened and a gasp could be heard along with a female's voice.
"Fredrick! Come here! Oh, the poor dear must be freezing!" the woman picked the bundle up and took it inside, closing the door behind her. The moon shone bright looking down on the people inside.
