Telly woke up one morning. "I hope I'm not late." he moaned. He looked at the clock. The arrows looked like a 7. Just enough time. Telly gathered up his triangles and headed out the door.

I pass buildings on the street. I pass Big Bird's nest. A passing glance. A 'good morning, Telly." Little else. The can. Just keep moving, telly. You'll be fine. No need to get anxious. Not about that, not yet. I pull into Hooper's store. Alan greets me with a smile. "What can i get you, Telly?" "Nothing yet" i reply. I sit at the counter waiting for him. He's relatively new in town."Hewwo, tewwy!" exclaims his voice. 'Baby Bear. How are you?" I reply. "Quite fine, indeed. Have you pwaced ouh ohdeh." "No, I didn't know what you would want. And what if I ordered wrong. i couldn't handle the pressure." Baby Bear, now seated beside me, rummages through the menu. "Powwidge, pwease!" he exclaims to Alan. "And I'll have toast." I say. "Cut into triangles?" Alan asks. I laugh it off.

Our breakfast went well. "Come on, Tewwy." He says. 'I've got a suwpwise foh you." The speech impediment is cute. He takes me to his corner of the street where his easel is set up. "Sit hewe." he says 'I am going to dwaw you." He is such a sweet bear. So absorbed in his fantasy world at times. I sit still on this box in front of the easel facing south. This relationship may be really good for me. But then... I can't help but remember the old days. I was so young back then, paranoid and easy to abuse. I was a persistent little monster, but I would take second chair to Grundgetta again, if he asked me too. He was so brash and strong-willed. But now I have Baby Bear, with his art and traditional Jewish upbringing. Baby Bear never complains, and when he's upset he gets lost into Hewo Guy.

He's emerging from his can right now. "Tewwy. Tewwy. Speak to me, Tewwy. Ahe you okay? You'we aww teawy." huh."I'm fine." I say. "Do you want that we should weschedule?" I think he might be on to something right there. "Yes. Thank you very much." "i'ww caww you latew?" "Sure, thanks." I say.

I should go home.
