A/N: I am in a Christina Perri mood I swear…this one is inspired by the song Tragedy by Christina Perri. And I do not own the song or Rizzoli and Isles, I also do not have a beta so all spelling and grammar mistakes are my own!

Slipping down the wall Maura wrapped her arms around her knees, the sound of the front door closing hit her like a speeding car. Tears dripped down her face, her once pristine makeup now looked like Courtney Love had done it. Her hair was a mess it displayed her guilt, her uselessness. Looking down at her wrinkled clothing she tried to shake her head to remove the new memories, but the tragedy of it all kept playing through as did others.

Various hands began to touch; all past hands that had once made her skin burn now made her feel cold and lifeless. Jane's hands, the hands that once made her quiver and feel love now only bring heartbreak. They could have been great together but it is always the beginning of the play that seals the fate of a play, and this play was a tragedy.

She was only good enough for a roll in the sheets; the once strong and determined Maura Isles was slipping away. She felt like a fool, everyone thought Jane and her were dating and in love. But it wasn't love anymore, it was a broken heart, it was a murder of her…it was a tragedy.

Maura stood up slowly, removed her dress and tossed it into the dirty clothes hamper. It was already wrinkled what would some more do, grabbing her brush she began to brush her hair. The person looking back at her made her sick, why did this have to happen. People wanted them together, but not like this. She knew if she ended things people in her department will tell her I told you so; they knew that if things began the way they did that it wouldn't end well.

Releasing a sigh Maura went into her closet and removed a dress to where, she had something she needed to do. The trip didn't take long and neither did the installing, looking up at the clock she had twenty minutes before Jane showed up. The glass of wine in her hands she hadn't touched, looking up five minutes till the car would pull up.

Angela walked into the kitchen and saw Maura looking off into the distance; she looked like a broken doll. As Angela went towards Maura the younger woman snapped back to reality the two looked at one another and that is when they heard the car pull up, Angela went to get the door but Maura stood and ran towards her quickly. A look of confusion crossed the older woman's face, they heard the footsteps.

Wanting to speak Angela went to say something but Maura silenced her with a look and her hand gently placed over her mouth. The sound of a key entering the lock, the sound of the key being rejected. The loud knock on the door, the sound of Maura beginning to cry. A slam against the door then heavy footsteps, a slam of a car door. The start of an engine and tires squealing, those were the final sounds Maura heard from Jane that night.

Once the car left Maura dropped her hand and began to cry, Angela held the younger woman as she cried not knowing what just happened. Not knowing that she was at the end of a tragedy.

A/N: So yeah, that was a bit depressing but I listened to that song and just saw Maura sitting there broke. Pushing herself to end it but then in the end still feeling weak…the song is rather upbeat in a way about saying don't make me blah blah blah I am ending this but I saw it as sad and depressing and instantly saw Maura in the end showing her strength again but still feeling so much pain.
