Be My Friend Again

"Hyah, Hyah!" Kevin laughed, pointing at the shorter Ed in front of him. Eddy's face turned pink and Ed took a step back, nervous.

"You're a liar!" He spit back furiously.

"Tch, whatever. You're a loser and I know everyone else thinks that too!"

"Am not!! I'm not a loser!" he looked to Ed beside him, then quickly looked around for someone to back him up. Across the street he was Double-D walking over to them with a smile. He snatched the other's wrist and dragged him over. "Tell him Double-D!"

The intelligent boy was confused. He looked between them; Eddy's glare to Kevin's intimidating smirk to Ed's worried expression. He fidgeted, his mind racing to try and figure out what was going on and what his answer should be.

"Double-D!"

"Yeah Double-DORK! What's your answer?" Kevin now too glared at him, his fists clenching with anticipation.

"B-But Eddy! I don-"

"See? Everybody thinks that!" The red-headed bully laughed and sped away on his bike, content with his victory for the day.

Eddy stood there, staring at his so called friend.

"Wh-what…? Why didn't you defend me?!" he shouted.

"I-I'm sorry Eddy, but-" Double-D tried to explain.

"Shut up!" Eddy wouldn't hear it, too upset already to let Double-D have a word in edgewise. Double-D was his friend! Why hadn't he defended him? Ed didn't say anything, but that was expected; he wasn't good at talking much anyway - he had no brain. But Double-D! He hadn't told Kevin that he was wrong or even con…contra-(Damn Double-D and his words) SAID that he wasn't a loser! Eddy felt betrayed and humiliated.

"Eddy?" Double-D asked cautiously. He reached out a tentative hand that was quickly smacked away.

"I said Shut up! Y-You're not my friend anymore!"

"But Eddy!"

"Don't you listen?! I don't need you!" He pushed Double-D and took off, locking himself in his house.

Eddy pouted and leaned against the wall before sinking onto the floor. He spend the rest of the night along, and kept to himself the well into the following morning up until someone rang his doorbell later that afternoon.

It was Double-D.

"Wh-What happened to you?" The boy in the hat had scrapes along his arms and his face was red. A bruise was forming on his neck, but he held a look of determination on his face. His hands were behind his back, and when he revealed them, he was holding Kevin's hat.

"When you left, Ed told me what happened. I confronted Kevin about it and contradicted (there it is) him that you're NOT a loser and that you're my Best Friend! And he," Double-D's voice cracked a little, and he coughed to subdue it, "He beat me up! I-I tried to fight back, I did! But…he won! I brought his cap though…As proof that I did it! S-so can we be friends again…?" tears had welled in his eyes and spilled over at his question. Eddy felt a stab of guilt sweep through him and he glaned to his friend's injuries before pulling him into a hug.

"Of course! You're my best friend Double-D! I…I'm sorry. Thank you." Eddy whispered. The other's sobbing shrank in intensity until he was merely whimpering and wiping away salt water streams.

"YAY!!" A loud voice shouted. Eddy and Double-D had only enough time to look up in question before being attacked in a hug by their third half, Ed. "We're all together again! Just like the time the weasle mutants from Glorgon Six when they signed the treaty with the space chickens and sewer monkeys. Our sewer monkey came back Eddy!!"

Said person drew a blank face before laughing along with Double-D at their companions actions.

For Yami-Shin X3 She said it would be a cute fanfic, so I had to write it. Ha, fail.
