Chapter 1-To think we met on an airplane.
When the tall brunette bumbled onto the plane, Haruka thought nothing of it, other than commenting in his head on the awkwardness of him. The man fumbled withputting his bag away, knocked over a drinks cart, and in helping the frantic flight attendant (himself equally as frantic), elbowing her in the nose.
But eventually he sat down, with a sigh of relief.
"Let's see, all packed. Said goodbye. Phone off. Bag put away." The man spoke in a gentle voice, ticking off his list with his fingers. He turned to Haruka, and smiled. "I'm Tachibana Makoto." He introduced. "It is a 13-hour flight, might as well get aquainted with people." He explained sheepishly. "What's your name?"
"Nanase...Haruka." Haruka muttered. The man was indeed tall in stature, and it showed even when he sat down. It was just them in the row, but instantly the roomy first-class seats felt suffocatingly small, dwarfed by the man.
"Haruka, huh? It's a nice name!" Makoto smiled.
Haruka just grunted in reply.
Makoto just smiled further, as he pulled an mp3 player from his pockets, and offered an earbud to Haruka. Haruka placed the earbud in his ear, and listened as the music lulled him. This music, he decided was calming like the water. He liked it.
Haruka could feel the music lull him to sleep. Before he gave in to it, he glanced over at the person next to him. He was smiling softly, humming along to the music. The plane, Haruka thought, got a lot brighter when the man smiled, as sleep pulled him under.
