It was early in the night. N'Doul had just started soaking in his bath water. He rented a small house on the outskirts of a rather miniscule Egyptian village. So far his plan to pass off as a nobody had succeeded. The crime rate in the village was already high his addition would not be noticed too much. N'Doul heard a disturbance outside of his house. Reaching out he grabbed his cane from where it rested against the wall.

Putting it to his ear he easily deciphered the vibrations thrumming through it. Two young men were outside of his house acting as though they were looking to get inside.

"Thieving from a blind man how rude," N'Doul commented flatly. Summoning his Stand it began to glide across the floor of his home towards the window the men were peering into.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Of course I'm sure, how hard could it be? And no one would believe him anyways-" The man had gone to touch the window pane and received a cut on the back of his hand. He let out a startled yelp his fellow doing likewise.

"Damn! This really hurts!"

"Are we gonna leave now?"

"After a cut? I'm not such a baby-" The man reached again for the window pane and let out a scream in reaction to having some of his fingers cut off. Gripping his bleeding hand tightly they ran away shouting curses and superstitious nonsense.

N'Doul withdrew his Stand a grin on his face. When he was young the rumors that spread about his "curse" as people had called it had hurt. Now they were proven useful.

The grin on his face disappeared when he heard a strange vibration come from his roof. Are those footsteps? That's impossible, he thought. Geb lurked in the bath water circling him. The next instant the vibrations ceased and N'Doul attempted to relocate them. He froze upon realizing that he wasn't alone in his house anymore.

"I hear you are cursed. I believe you are simply the owner of a remarkable ability," said an unfamiliar voice. It came from a man that was crouching in front of him. It was astonishing how he had managed to creep not only onto the house's roof but to have gotten inside without N'Doul noticing the steps taken inbetween. Geb had arisen out of the bath water only to dissolve in reaction to his shock.

"I'm looking for people like you with such remarkable abilities. Using vibrations heard through your cane you can pinpoint an object's location. Coupled with your Stand the both of you make a deadly combination. You have nowhere else to go, why not with me?" The words he spoke bore down deep into what felt like N'Doul's soul. His perceptions were flawless and for the first time in a long time N'Doul felt fear.

"Who are you?" N'Doul managed to ask at last.

"Dio. Let us be companions from now on-"

"N'Doul," he finished eagerly. He felt as if fate had personally arranged this meeting and he gladly rushed at the opportunity presented to him.
