Disclaimer: Yep, I own Star Wars. oh, come on now, people. If I owned Star Wars I'd be rich. If I were rich, I'd be on a shopping spree, not sitting in front of my computer writing this crappy fanfiction, and since you're reading this, I obviously wrote it, so we can safely assume that I do not own Star Wars. Please don't sue me. I don't have any money to give you, anyway. So there. Hah.

You'll Be In My Heart

Leia is crying in Han's arms. Tomorrow they will arrive at Bespin, and Leia knows that their days together are numbered. "Please don't leave me," she whispers desperately. "Please, Han. I need you. Please don't leave me."

/Come stop your crying /It'll be all right /Just take my hand /Hold it tight /I will protect you from all around you /I will be here, don't you cry

Han is holding Leia, fighting back tears of his own. He doesn't want to leave her. But he knows he has to. He too had a bad feeling about this trip, from the moment it began, but there is nothing he can do. He hugs her tighter, pressing her small frame closer to his.

/For one so small, /You seem so strong /My arms will hold you /Keep you safe and warm /This bond between us can't be broken, /I will be here, don't you cry

Suddenly Leia wakes up. Han is gone. She starts to panic, then she remembers. Cloud City. The carbonite chamber. She closes her eyes against the hot tears threatening to spill over. "You can't do it. Han's already dead. You'll never find him alive." The words echo through her head. But she knows she must be strong. I'll find you, Han. If it's the last thing I do, I'll find you. I promise.

/Cause you'll be in my heart /Yes you'll be in my heart /From this day on /Now and forever more

/You'll be in my heart /No matter what they say /You'll be here in my heart /Always

Leia goes through her everyday life as if in a dream. Nothing makes sense anymore. Life is empty without Han. If she hears one more "You can't do it", she'll scream. "Why is she so hung up on him, anyway?" they say. "She's a princess, he's just a pirate. She deserves better." No one believes that they'll actually find Han. Luke tries to help, and Lando too, but nobody feels the way she does. No one feels the harsh pain, experiences the terrible nightmares. No one else wakes up sobbing at night. She would give everything for one more minute with Han, one more kiss. She wants nothing more than to feel his strong arms around her once again.

/Why can't they understand the way we feel? /They just don't trust what they can't explain /I know we're different, but deep inside us /We're not that different at all

/And you'll be in my heart /Yes you'll be in my heart /From this day on /Now and forever more

/Don't listen to them /Cause what do they know? /We need each other /To have, to hold /They'll see in time /I know

Leia has thought hard about her decision. "Are you sure, Leia?" Mon Mothma asks. Leia takes a deep breath and replies, "Yes, Ma'am. I'm sure. I have to find Han. Even if it means leaving the Alliance." Mon Mothma smiles at her. "Go then. Leave us. Find your beloved, and then come back to us. We will miss you terribly. We eagerly await your return. Leia nods, fighting back tears. "You really love him, don't you?" Mon Mothma asks with a warm smile. Leia nods, her eyes misting over. "Yes. Yes I do. More than anything in the galaxy." I'm coming, Han. Hang on, I'm coming for you.

/When destiny calls you, /You must be strong /I may not be with you, /But you've got to hold on /They'll see in time /I know /We'll show them together

/Cause you'll be in my heart /Yes you'll be in my heart /From this day on /Now and forever more

/You'll be in my heart /No matter what they say /You'll be here in my heart always /Always
