TRIBUTE TO: The shorter people in life. Yes, people do underestimate them, and I am sure they have more potential than what meets the eye.
(Btw, I am 5'4" for reference. )
Toph had always been small for her age, and that was how people saw her. The helpless, fragile, TINY,blind girl. She covered her size with a huge mouth, and powerful attacks to her insulter. However, that did not change the fact that she was tiny, and that she would always need to ask for help (or earthbend the floor) to reach the highest shelf on a cabinet. It didn't change the fact that she would need to stand on the very tips of her petite feet to kiss... him. She tried to act as large as she could, but that didn't exactly make her grow any taller.
Sokka was watching Toph practice earthbending when he noticed something. His brow furrowed in though, and Toph could feel it.
"What'cha thinking about, Meathead?"
"Um... Nothing."
"Really?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Idiot. I KNOW YOU'RE LYING!"
In the quietest voice that Sokka could manage, he said,
"I was thinking about how small you were, Toph."
"I may be blind, but I'm not deaf, and I STILL can't hear you! SPEAK FROM THE DIAPHRAGM!" (Toph actually could hear him, and was simply toying with him.)
"Um... Toph... I was thinking about... Heck, Toph, you're TINY!"
"Excuse me? Did you just call me TIN-"
"No, I meant pretty! Heh... heh..."
"You really think so, Sokka?"
The beast was quelled, and suddenly became slightly shy...
"Thanks Snoozles..."
"Anytime, Toph, anytime."
Toph really was tiny, as Sokka had thought. It was amazing that someone as small as her could earthbend. Her little hands could probably fit perfectly in his palm, and when she tensed them, you could see the muscles in them. She WAS tiny, and Sokka remembered how he had underestimated her at their first meeting. At ifrst, she was a little blind girl. If you knew Toph at all, she was almost the opposite. She was the powerful, strong, amazing, earthbender. Personalitywise, she was the tallest kid you would ever find. She was the Blind Bandit. She was the Worlds Greatest Earthbender! Yet, to Sokka, she was just Toph. Funny, brash, sarcastic Toph. And she would always be the one he loved most.
DONE! Last time, I got a flame... WAHHHHH! Oh well. I got like 15 nice reviews and that makes me REALLLYYYY happy! Thanks everyone for reviewing!
