"...You - who are you to judge your neighbor?"
--James 4:12
Who am I,
to judge all who have been created
in your image?
For as long as we are reflections
of your unfathomable beauty,
so ugliness does not exist.
Each taunt,
each haunting glare,
each horrendous comment made are
reminders of my unwillingness
to love what you have made in your eyes.
Every creation in nature;
man, woman, child, animal
and plant,
are emblems of your wonder;
not to be hated, not to be ridiculed or scrutinized.
Yet I go on mocking,
as if I'm on a higher level.
But who is the one looking down on all of us?
Who is the one who is perfect to no end,
splendid and almighty?
You are, Lord.
But you do not neglect us who are inferior.
Instead you embrace us,
accepting the punishment for our sins so that
we may continue being spiteful to one another,
and still earn a place in Heaven.
So who has the right to judgement in the end?
Certaintly not me.
Who am I,
to judge all who have been created
in your image?
For as long as we are reflections
of your unfathomable beauty,
so ugliness does not exist.
Each taunt,
each haunting glare,
each horrendous comment made are
