This is just a quick song fic for Carrie Underwood's Wasted. Hope you like it.

Standing at the backdoor

She tried to make it fast

One tear hit the hardwood

It fell like broken glass

She said sometimes love slips away

And you just can't get it back

Let's face it

Samantha Joy Puckett stood at the backdoor of her boyfriend's home, tears filling her eyes. She was breaking up with him tonight, and it was time.

"Sometimes love slips away, and you just can't get it back," she said. "Let's face it."

"Alright, fine, whatever!" he replied. "Take your shit and leave!"

At that, he walked away, to his bedroom. She just stood there for a second, but then came to and picked up the box of things she had. She started to walk away, but paused.

For one split second

She almost turned around

But that would be like pouring raindrops

Back into a cloud

So she took another step and said

I see the way out and I'm gonna take it

Sam shook her head and kept walking. She opened the door of her car, placing the box on the passenger seat. She climbed into the driver's seat, brushing away her tears.

"I see the way out and I'm gonna take it," she whispered to herself. She started the car and backed out of the driveway.

I don't wanna spend my life jaded

Waiting to wake up one day and find

That I let all these years go by

Wasted

She held on to the steering wheel as she pulled over on the highway. Her tears were falling faster and harder, and she had to stop. Sam turned off her headlights and climbed into the backseat, curling up into a little ball and falling to sleep.

Another glass of whiskey but it still don't kill the pain

So he stumbles to the sink and pours it down the drain

He said it's time to be a man and stop living for yesterday

Gotta face it

Freddie Benson poured himself another glass of the finest whiskey money could buy. It was his twelfth, maybe more, glass that night. He took one sip before stumbling over to the bathroom and pouring the entire cup down the drain.

"It's time to be a man and stop living for yesterday," he whispered, "gotta face it."

Cuz I don't wanna spend my life jaded

Waiting to wake up one day and find

That I let all these years go by

Wasted

He held on to his hair as he stumbled to bed, hopefully not too drunk. He did have to work with some A-list director tomorrow.

Oh, oh, I don't wanna keep on wishing, missing

The still of the morning, the color of the night

I ain't spending no more time

Wasted

Sam smiled to herself as she saw that "WELCOME TO CALIFORNIA" sign. She'd been driving for three straight days. It was almost dusk, and the stars were lining the sky, though there was still some light from the sun out.

"It's so beautiful," she stated, continuing to drive towards southern California.

She kept driving along

Till the moon and the sun were floating side by side

He looked in the mirror and his eyes were clear

For the first time in a while

Freddie looked into the bathroom mirror and just stared at his own face as his eyes cleared. He couldn't remember the last time his eyes looked like that. It felt great to see himself like that again.

He decided that he'd look like that a lot more often.

Hey, yeah

Oh, I don't wanna spend my life jaded

Waiting to wake up one day and find

That I let all these years go by

Wasted

Sam smiled at everyone in the coffee house. "Well, here's a little song I wrote especially for tonight, and for a certain someone I haven't seen in a few years. I hope you like it."

Freddie Benson was standing in the audience. He smiled back, giving her a little nod.

Sam started strumming her guitar.

Standing at the back door

She tried to make it fast

One tear hit the hardwood

It fell like broken glass...

So what did you think? It's not the best I've ever written, but I think it's okay. Review? *hopeful face*
