INTRO
SOMETHING UNEXPECTED
Zero and Emerald were just regular high school kids who you wouldn't think had bad grades. Emerald would always try to do his work but sometimes he would get bored and read a book instead. Sometimes he wouldn't understand something and try to get help but nobody would actually help him; they would tell him the same things over and over. Zero on the other hand just didn't care anymore. Most of his life he always had bad luck when it came to school. He would get teachers that seemed to not like him or expected too much of him. As he got older he started to feel like there was no real reason for him to even be living. So when it came to school he would just go to sleep in class or do some work until he understood it – which wasn't a lot because he learned fast. Zero and Emerald became best friends in the beginning of their first high school year. They were in a math class with a teacher who seemed nice but she wasn't. Zero would get in trouble for talking when the most of the class would be really loud. Emerald would ask to keep the note on the board for a little longer but she would get mad at him and ay he should have copied them faster. They would ask for help on something she say come for tutoring and when they got there she would ignore them the whole time. Both were tall kind of chubby and looked older than their age Zero would wear black and red clothes with prescription glasses.
One day in their second year of school Zero and Emerald were leaving from school after staying in detention for something they didn't do. As they were leaving the campus they heard an explosion and started looking around but didn't see anything see they just kept walking. Then a couple of minutes later there was another explosion so they stopped to look again but there was nothing. When Zero got home he saw a giant smoke cloud over his school. When he got back to school the next day he asked Emerald if he saw the smoke and emerald said yeah and then they realized that was the result of those explosions from the day before but when they asked anyone else about the explosions or smoke they said they didn't see or hear anything. When they left home that they it happened again but this time they saw something come out of both but it didn't look like anything from earth so they didn't think it was real.
When Emerald got home that night he was in his room watching TV and then he heard something in his backyard so he grabbed one of his words and went to go check it out. When he looked outside he didn't see anything because of the dark so he grabbed a flash light and then he saw one of the things the he saw come out of the explosions. It was an orc wearing some type of animal skin but it wasn't an animal the he ever seen and it had a big wooden club. The orc tried to attack Emerald but he jumped out the way and stabbed the orc in the side then it let out a cry of pain and fled. The next day Emerald told Zero what happened and he said the same thing happened to him but when they told other people about it they thought they were just joking around. That night Emerald stayed at Zero's house and they stayed up waiting for the orcs to come again and they did but when they started to fight the orcs another explosion happened and they all got sucked into a portal and then everything went dark
