Right, this was inspired by some summary I saw where they included Kagome's age and I thought 'why does she have to be so young?' This lead to one thing and then another..voila. Sort of.
Disclaimer: the obvious, don't own. Never will.
Inuyasha had never realized that time had passed as fast as it had. He had not realized that leaves had changed, trees had grown from small saplings and small children to young adults.
He never noticed that time had passed. Of course he noticed the small things that meant time was going by, that everything was aging. But his being a demon had blurred his sense of aging. He would never admit to it because it would mean he was considering himself a human and expecting all of the things implied.
Although he never noticed the time as it passed, neither did he wake up in sudden realization of the lost time. Instead he began to notice the little things such as more frequent stops on their groups journeys, more resting. He noticed that Kaede was not as helpful anymore and not because she was being stubborn. He noticed that Shippo was not quite as annoying, instead leaning towards being slightly angsty. He noticed a lack of perversity and violence among Sango and Miroku.
But mostly he noticed that Kagome was duller than before. She was gray around the edges of her scalp and she lacked that vitality he associated with her. She no longer seemed infatuated with him, but attached because of loyalty. He noticed that they did not speak as much anymore. He noticed a ring on her finger and wondered what it meant.
Most of all he noticed that while everyone around him was growing older he was not changing.
He didn't want to be left behind again, not again.
An: again, criticism appreciated. This was just some little blurb that I felt like putting up, so yeah. hope someone out there enjoyed it.
