This story is fueled by my state of being pissed over missing the Meitantei Conan Special Edition VS the Black Organization 'cuz they sold out so fast.
There are no bad cigars. Only better ones. But sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar - even if Gin's was a strong 2.02 mg nicotine American Spirits Black - when the mood hovers in uncertain territories. "You've killed Sherry?" Gin asked Vermouth. He didn't care about hers, but he was using his own cellphone. He never let his cellphone away from him, even when he charges it, and certain measures had been taken so that Gin was positive no busybody was listening in on his calls. "You're certain of this?"
"I am... Bourbon watched her go up in smoke along with the storage carriage," Vermouth blew her own - He knew it to be her Norwegian loose shag. "Aren't you satisfied with Sherry being reduced to ash?"
She hung up, and Gin was left feeling nothing. Smooth as always. Normal disposal of a traitor. Except that this time it involves the scientist who turned coat and renders all of their progress in Research and Development to a halt because after her mother's death she spearheaded the entire thing.
Gin could hardly believe he was considering the phrase 'too good to be true'.

Sherry being reduced to ash.
Oh, how Vermouth wished she had witnessed it with her own eyes. Actually, she wished for a pool of thick, slick ruby to halo her strawberry blonde head, but knowing the traitor spent her last moments listening to tick tick tick made her feel warm. She had to smile.
"I was so surprised!"
Vermouth had tailed Silver Bullet-chan frequently enough to recognize his little cute group of Irregulars's voices.
"To think Haibara was in Room B in Carriage 7 all along."
It was always fun to hang up on Anokata's fiercest dog, but never had she been more glad to do so.
She is alive?
"It was a crime scene. I knew it would be empty."
"Your cold is messing up your head! How could you sleep soundly in a dead man's room?"
A lazy smile played across the woman's sculptured lips.
'I can't find Haibara anywhere!'
That phone call. That was all an act to keep me stalled in Yukiko's room. They predicted the room she would run into. He'd been listening in to our conversation.
But then teeth peeked out and a tooth bit her bottom lip. But when she grabs Yukiko's phone Bourbon informed me 'Sherry' was in Carriage 8. Then who was the woman who blew up?
Another blonde. Angel's friend. The Suzuki Heiress was whining. "Because of this KID-sama's not on board on the train!"
Disguised eyes shifted to look at the boy pointedly ignoring the chatter in favor of whoever was connected to his cellphone. Satisfaction was mixed with mischief in those big eyes. "My bad! May bad!" Silver Bullet-chan giggled. "Isn't close calls an occupational hazard?"
A small part of her wished the little shrunken detective would conveniently look at her direction and spot the look she was shooting at him. Yukiko had earlier joked about her side having a special guest. And if this special guest is the one who posed as Sherry, that means this person is talented on the art of disguise to be able to fool Bourbon. And from what Silver Bullet-chan is saying, it means this person is now safe and away from the blown up train.
But she had bombed the compartment in the middle of a bridge, so this person would have to jump down into the river, but to get to the nearest shore the time lap wouldn't fit with how quick Silver Bullet-chan is talking to this... special guest.
Little detective's working with criminals now.

"When I agreed to work with you," KID controlled his voice. His let his body shake from shock though. "I didn't sign up for bombs in closed space."
"Closed space?" Tantei-kun scoffed at the other end of the line. "I knew you'd hide your silly bird device in there."
"Be that as it may, your favor to me was simply withholding information." Tantei-kun had sent him - when he was disguised as Komino's maid, Sumitomo away. KID had been doing the speaking for both of them so when Tantei-kun cornered 'Komino' Jii couldn't speak. And being a short brat, Tantei-kun saw through Jii's act easily in the first place. "Acting as a pretty lady from only one short - not even clear video - and nearly erasing my identity on Earth in such obscurity is not an equal favor."
"Consider yourself out of debt. Do return my cellphone to Mouri's agency." Tantei-kun hung up.
"Out of your debt?" KID mumbled and tore off this woman's face, revealing his own. He threw the mask into the river to drown. "Consider yourself in my debt this time, Tantei-kun."

I so owe the Professor for this. Conan recalled his instructions. Cut the little blue wire to cut the automatic search proof. Little thing was too thin and sticks to the chip Bourbon had slipped in to hack into Kogoro's files. It took him ten minutes, less stressed because he knew Ran had slept upstairs and he had distracted Kogoro with a live performance of Yoko. When he was done fixing the main board, he inserted it and turned the laptop back on again.
As expected. Bourbon's chip's file was restored.
Connecting a legal hack flashdrive normally exclusive to the Central International Agency he obtained through Heiji's Dad's contacts, Conan broke through the security.
He was so satisfied. At first. Conan quickly noticed aside from Kogoro's files being leeched, the important ones had the date stamp of this week. None from previous weeks or - what he was hoping for - years. Recent, but burned off payroll. Damn it.
Fishing it is.

Kogoro was snoring, Ran-san was sleeping, and Kamen Yaiba video game could be heard from Conan's room.
Bourbon's amusement over how easy it was to use the Sleeping Detective's private laptop was replaced by dread when he saw his chip's program visible. His reports were untouched, but there was a new file amounting to 1 kilobyte.
Anokata and the dog's suspicious. Too easy.
Bourbon sighed in relief. It was just Vermouth. He didn't think 'easy' was suspicious in this case. Sherry was high in the hierarchy but in the end she was just a turn coat, one who simply had a higher priority to be disposed of. That job's done now, time to fill in everything while leeching old case files of the particularly dangerous lawyer who was married to Kogoro.
