AN: Okay, before you read I just want to say that I am perfectly aware of what comic book Starfire went through, but this is based off of the cartoon, so maybe some other time...
Sometimes Raven thinks. Actually she thinks all the time so sometimes is an understatement. But sometimes when she's a little short on meditation, her thoughts carry the undertones of her emotions. And though Timid's thoughts are little more than a whisper, it is hers that resonate even after the rest have gone.
Starfire's beautiful and glows with a light that Raven never will. Everyone is drawn to her, while the only people Raven ever attracts have something to gain. Malchior...well that one was obvious. That Goth Kid...he was after the fame.
But Star didn't even have to do anything to draw people in, except be. Robin was attracted to her from the start, going to great lengths to ensure the Gordanian's couldn't recapture her. Cyborg was obviously attracted to her as well, only reacting to the team being sucked into Mumbo's hat after Star was at risk of being sucked in. Even Red X was attracted to her the first time he saw her, attempting to flirt with some corny pick-up line.
And Raven had to admit that on the surface, Star was way better than her. But when you got down to it, yeah Star was beautiful, yet she's quick to anger, emotional, easily discouraged, and possessive. Now don't be mistaken, Raven wasn't jealous, because she knew Star had her own problems to deal with. But no one who had seen Starfire the time Kitten wrangled a date out of Robin could deny that she was quick to anger and possessive. Just like she knew that nobody who knew what happened between her and Robin on that planet they'd gotten stranded on could deny that she was emotional, almost to the point of manipulation. And don't get her started on the time Blackfire came to Earth and Star all of a sudden felt her position on the team was threatened and lost faith in her friends, getting ready to leave the planet.
But Raven can't help but think that though Star did have some flaws, she still glowed and everyone still loved her. And when Raven turns her thoughts to herself, she knows that she can never be like Star, because she isn't Star. And she wouldn't be able to attract people like Star does, but even so, Raven thinks that maybe it's not so bad, because regardless of whether or not she glows like Star, she is still no less and no more of a person. And she is content in knowing that those who truly know her know this.
Ok, dont know if anybody caught the reference to the Bunny Raven episode. But was I the only one wondering what was up with that? Anyways review and tell me what you think. I don't think that this was Star bashing because I mean really that's how she came off as in those particular episodes, but let me know if that's how it came out, because I want to avoid the bashing of any character. So give me some constructive criticism if you can or just tell me whether or not you liked it. Whatever you want. Thanks for reading.
