I do not own The Book of Mormon! It belongs to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

"You must repent! The Lord will not spare Jerusalem, otherwise!" Lehi watched as one of the Lord's prophets tried to convince the people of Jerusalem of their wickedness and lack of repentance.

"Blasphemy!"

He looked to his right and saw the man who had spoken out raise a stone above his head, ready to strike. Lehi narrowed his eyes. So blind. How can no one else here, except me, see that this prophet speaks the truth? Then that man did, indeed, throw his stone; a woman next to him not hesitating to follow his example.

Lehi swiftly turned away so he would not see what harm would come of their actions, but that could not keep him from hearing the sickening thud of one of the stones having found their intended target.

He hurried home, knowing full well that he could not help him. Even if I tried, I would never be able to make it through the crowd, let alone be heard above everyone else shouting their protests and false accusations.

Lehi paused. I may not have been able to help that man, but PERHAPS I can still help my people! He turned away from his path home and, instead, proceeded to the outskirts of town to a secluded area he would often go when desiring to be alone, then knelt in front of a large stone, and began to pray. "Most gracious Lord, please spare my people! I know there are others dwelling in Jerusalem that believe in and obey the words your prophets have spoken. Surely, you would not destroy them over another's wickedness! I beg of y- "

"Lehi." He looked up and gasped. There stood a pillar of fire on the stone before him. "Lehi," It (He?) addressed him again. "Do not fear, those who listen to and obey the prophets' words will be saved."

Then whomever had spoken said, and showed, many more things to Lehi, that cannot be written, seeing as the things which he heard and saw shook him to the very core.
