Chapter 1:

Thrown Away

Scraps of gleaming silver were strewn across the cold hard floor. It was strange to see the lab this way, since it was almost always clean, in fact, I'm sure that the Doctor kept it that way for a reason. Now, however, that was not the case. The air was filled with a thick, murky, hazardous aura, on that screamed at me 'turn back while you still can'. I wished, for a moment, for the Doctor's life, and that he still held on tightly to it. Within moments I came to a metallic door, the one that lead to our secret room. I pushed it open, finding it unlooked. Inside was a sight like no other.

There was still a plate on the couch near the computer, filled with the derby and trash from this morning's muffin, and next to it lay an empty glass that was toppled over, its contents already lost to the floor. There were papers, pencils, and blueprints thrown everywhere, not an inch of floor was left uncovered. There was only one thing in the room that had remained standing, and that, was The Machine.

Its finished red paint taunted me with its valiant glow, as it towered above everything in the lab, only stopping at the ceiling. The platform was already used, no doubt by the Doctor himself. Did The Machine really work? And if it did, then, where has it thrown the Doctor to now? There was only one thing that I knew to be true. If The Machine did work, then the Doctor was sucked into its hole, and if that's the case, then it's my job to find him.

Without any regret in my mind, I proceeded to stand atop the platform, waiting for The Machine to take me as well, to where the Doctor may lie, hopefully alive. I grabbed my remote, pressing button after button, until finally, there was a flash of blue light, and the world that I once knew, was lost.
