"Babe I'm sorry I really wanted to have a picnic but this stupid rain ruined that idea." Damon sighed.
Damon it's ok, it happens. We can just do something in here."
"I know I just thought going out for a picnic would be a lot more romantic."
"Awe." She giggled.
"It's ok we'll go on a picnic date tomorrow. Let me take out the food and set them on plates so we can eat in the living room."
Emily walked to the kitchen to set up their plates. Damon was upset because the stupid rain messed up their date. To Emily it's no big deal because to her it's just another date but this time it's special. Damon was gonna propose. He had this whole plan on what he was gonna do, and what he was gonna say.
He just gazed out the window trying to figure out another plan on how to propose.
"Whatcha thinking about?"
"Oh hey…uh how long have you been standing there? "
"Not long but I know something is bothering you. What's wrong?"
"I'm just upset that the rain ruined our date that's all."
"Well we can't let that keep us down."
"What do you mean babe? Our date was supposed to be romantic and amazing."
"Come with me." She grabbed his hand and led him to the front door of their house.
"Emily where are we going?"
"Outside"
"No it's pouring. You don't have jacket on and you get sick easily."
"I know you're upset about the rain ruining our date, but let's just enjoy it. Dance with me."
Damon grabbed Emily and they started to sway in their front yard.
"You're beautiful even when you're soaking wet."
She laughed.
"I just want to make you feel better."
"I'm always better when you're around."
She smiled up at him.
"And I want you around forever Emily. I wasn't upset because the rain ruined just any normal date of ours. I was upset because this was supposed to be the most perfect date we've ever had, but I realized moments aren't perfect when they're grand. They're perfect when it's least expected. Being here with you, dancing, wet and all, this moment is perfect. I couldn't see a better time to do this than right now."
"Damon…"
"Emily Renee Kmetko will you marry me?"
"Yes a million times yes!"
Damon picked her up and spun her around.
"Best date ever. Emily whispered to Damon before they shared a slow and passionate kiss.
It was the perfect ending to the perfect date.
