Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who, or the characters Martha or Jack, or the idea of a latte, either (I don't think anybody owns that)
I know this is pretty short, as are the two other stories I'm about to put up, but I wrote them in bed last night on my iPhone and something written on "Notes" looks a lot longer then it does when it's actually on the computer. And you hands get tired writing on that. So sorry.
Anyway, I hope you like it!
Martha Jones walked meaningfully down Tottenham Court Road. She wanted to get away from her family, away from home. She loved her family, but they just weren't The Doctor. And they never could be.
Finally, she saw a coffee shop and ducked inside. It was warm and smelled good, so Martha pulled out a couple pound notes and went up to the counter.
"A latte please," she told the cashier, managing a smile. She handed the money in, then went to the other counter and waited for her latte.
Taking it, she turned around, took a step forward, and smashed into somebody.
Her latte spilled all over the floor. "Shit!" she exclaimed. "Can't you watch-"
Suddenly, she gave a shriek, recognizing Captain Jack. "Jack!" she cried, flinging herself into his arms. "Jack!"
He hugged her for a long minute. He was still Jack. "Martha," he said, sounding rather happy to see somebody he knew. "You didn't go with The Doctor?"
Martha sighed. "I couldn't," she said sadly. "I couldn't leave them after they saw that. They needed me."
"You're a good person," Jack said. "Anybody else would have left them."
Martha smiled couldn't help but smile. "I'd like to think I'm more than 'anybody else,'" she remarked, laughing.
Jack put his hands on her shoulders. "I think maybe you are," he said. "Just maybe."
Martha rolled her eyes, laughing. "I'm glad you think so."
"You should be," Jack said indignantly. "But we need to focus on the main issue."
"What's that?" Martha asked, wondering what he was talking about.
"I never kissed you," Jack said simply.
Martha looked at him. "What?"
"I never kissed you," Jack said, "and obviously I should've."
Before Martha could say anything, he kissed her.
Did you like it? I hope you did. My sister really did, I think I did too.
Please review! I love reviews! Pretty pretty please!
So far on my Fairy Lights: Stories of the Yule Ball collection I have only four reviews from two people.
Big thanks to ILoveWillRiker and americanathogwarts, and Alessandra and Jayson! You four have reviewed my stories!
Please join them and review my stories, too!
Oh, and for those Fairy Lights: Stories of the Yule Ballreaders, my next story will be Hannah Abbot/Ernie Macmillan. I'll have it up soon.
